MAYFIELD, KY -- At least two people have reported finding worms in food from McDonald's restaurants in two Kentucky communities.

Mayfield resident Madison Stephens tells WPSD-TV that she visited the local McDonald's on Sunday and purchased food for her and her 1-year-old son. She says that as she was about to bite into her hamburger, a live worm fell out.

At the McDonald's in Draffenville, about 25 miles away from Mayfield, Lacey Jo Lovett says she also found a worm in her burger on Tuesday.

Not only that. No worm is going to CRAWL out of a grilled burger, unless he was wearing a fire suit. Sounds like a con job. Here’s a possibility: “Hey, if we “find” worms at different locations it’ll really make ‘em look bad. And it’ll help bolster each of our stories, too.”

> I don’t believe this. The meat that MD gets is frozen...

I don’t either. The Obama economy has made it almost impossible to earn a living on one income so the grifters are coming out of the woodwork. I expect Ms. Stephens had a few worms in a bottle in her purse before she walked into that McDonald....

Anyway, If there wasn’t “intent” then you can’t blame McDonalds.... isn’t that right, Hillary??

After reading several comments here about the worms being cooked, I read the article again to see what I missed. I guess I missed it again. I don’t see anything there about the worms being cooked, or the lettuce (where the worms would likely be) being fried. Yet several FReepers seem to agree the worms are alleged to have survived being fried.

Sometimes produce has worms. Sometimes employees don’t wash your food as carefully as you would.

At first, I thought it might be real, but then they said *live* worms. That makes me think it’s a hoax.

I smell a hoax.

Dead cockroach? Maybe.

Live worm? Not bloody likely.

Reminds me of a diner in Onanole, Manitoba we got burgers at last weekend. I bit into mine and when looking at the meat, it did not look like ground beef. Tasted very sweet. The wife bit into hers, she agreed it looked nothing like ground beef, and said it could be sausage.

What was humorous, was the fries looked like they were two weeks old, and before we bit into the burgers she said: “Well, they can’t screw up a hamburger”.

PAper hat? :) really?

Class of 86 here. Left so dirty no one would pick me up. Once it took 3 hours to get maybe 6 miles. Come to think of it, I was in great shape then, I was only 16.

Should have walked it!!

But worms, like you say, really hard.

Another poser was right. He worked there in 74, I in 84.

There was so little chance of that happening.

But as he pointed out, does mechanization make it more or less likely for this to happen?

We would put most condiments on the GRILL on top of the burger before taking them off. Ain’t no worm gonna survive that!

Buried in the bead?!?! Could explain the 25 mile different. Same bread route?

Are they bugs, or features?

LOL! They use UNIX machines in their stores - must be bugs vs. "undocumented" features.

McDonald's is you kind of place
They serve you rattlesnakes
Hamburgers up your nose
French fries between your toes
And don;t forget those chocolate shakes
They’re made from polluted lakes
McDonald's is your kind of place.

I toured a factory making mcnuggets.

Chicken chunks arrive in Big totes.
The raw meat is dumped into a blender. All spices etc added.
That is the start of the not so long production line.
The Blended product is then formed, then coated with breading mix.
The nuggets immediately enter a quick cooker.
The cooked nuggets immediately are flash frozen, then bagged.

After all these years, I recall the production line at 100 feet long.

Them worms did not come from the factory!

Burger patties are also frozen when they hit the grill. Just like the egg product for Egg Biscuits. If there were critters in a sandwich, some one put them there. Not the first time some one has pulled these type stunts.

Now a hair on your sandwich would be more common as all they wear are paper hats not hairnets. Yeah, I did my share of McD work too. Best FF maker in the store, you didn’t get cold fries when I worked the fryer.

Now you can’t CCW in my state it has a NO GUNS allowed sign up in all the McD’s and I won’t go there and support their stupidity.
