LOL
I would have printed out fliers and handed them to every homeless person I met directing them there!

I can see a bunch of homeless people saying, "Vegan?! Who wants that? Why can't you just pick me up a Big Mac like the other suckers?"

Are you crazy? An Australian dollar is worth about 75 cents US.

Cheapness knows no ideology.

When I was running for City Council, members of my local Tea Party - elderly members - were encouraging me to close the libraries because the internet has made them obsolete. They also wanted all funding for Parks and Rec stopped because they didn’t use the parks.

These same a$$wipes also want to be exempt from any taxes going to education since they don’t have any children going to school anymore.

These are the same types who come into one of our local restaurants, request 6 separate checks, and then leave a $6 tip on a total of $90...

"....They have to keep it low key lest Dems find out."

Reminds me of this story about the The Barber:

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The florist is pleased and leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The cop is happy and leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open up, there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The Republican is very happy and leaves the shop.

Next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card and a dozen different books such as "How to Improve Your Business" and "Becoming More Successful", waiting for at the door.

Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week." The Democrat is very happy and leaves the shop.

The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Democrats lined up waiting for a free haircut.

Some people say Republicans are born with a silver spoon in their mouths. If that's the case, then democRATS are born with their hands out.

I was stationed in Belgium about 12 - 15 years ago and some Belgian friends told us the same thing. (We lived in the French part, so that makes sense.) I always thought that if they could get some good Iowa corn, they would change their minds, but they probably wouldn’t. I’ll eat the corn, they can eat the snails, and we’ll all be happy.

Peace, love, and vegetable rights! I had no idea what a lentil was when I started watching the Young Ones. Later found out what they were and it just made Neil seem even more pathetic...

In the heady days of hippiedom - this was the autumn of 1970, to be precise - I watched my new university try something similar in the Commons. Big papier-mache hand with a bowl in the palm. If you had spare change, you were morally obligated (heh heh) to give it up; if you needed it, you were morally welcome to take it. Being a curious sort I ponied up about 75 cents just to see what would happen. By the time I got back from the rest room it was gone.

The over-earnest Age Of Aquarius enthusiasts who dreamed it up actually thought it would work and kept seeding it out of their pockets. That lasted about a day before the bowl was permanently empty. Call it a formative experience. The lesson was certainly worth 75 cents. Probably the cheapest education I got in four years there.

The problem for socialists is that charity is only one-half of Marx's famous equation. The other side of "to each according to his needs," is "from each according to his ability." His ability, get it? Not his willingness to share. The state provides his willingness to share for him. That's what the bayonets are for.

“That’s close....to what I looked up last week.”

gr8eman got the decimal point out of place: a recurring nightmare among scientists, mathematicians, and regular humans alike.

1 ASUD = 0.7607 USD

1 USD = 1.31 AUSD

arithmetic forgives no one. the intensity of ideological or religious belief will not rescue you. try to think of it as the tyranny of numbers.

Read it right? You're hilarious, laddie. I trade it, and other currencies, for a living.

On int'l mkts Aussie (better known as AUD/USD) is always...ALWAYS... quoted as Australian Dollar per US Dollar. Right now, it's approx 76 US cents, hence the .7607 quote I provided earlier.

Do try again when you've learnt what you're talking about.

Didn’t TYPE ir right, simple typo. 1 Aussie dollar = 0.7607 US Dollar, as of when I typed the quote.
