CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Cincinnati emergency crews responded to 30 heroin overdoses in the course of one day Tuesday, August 23.

Officials said most of the overdoses were located in the west side of Cincinnati. The Cincinnati Police Department said in a statement Tuesday evening they were not sure of the exact cause of the increase yet. They warned anyone who may be using dangerous drugs to be aware of the increased danger.

Three people overdosed in one house and one man overdosed while driving through an intersection. Another overdosed with his child in the car at a gas station. Fire crews worked quickly to save as many lives as they could.

Sorry if I have no empathy for H addicts who overdo it. Their loss, our gain.

I’m guessing fentanyl (or even worse) was more responsible for the ODs than heroin.

How many people in proven chronic pain for horrible diseases have turned to illegal drug use? Why do you think we are seeing a nationwide call for approval of the gateway MMJ which does NOT relieve pain, just makes you high and think the pain is less.

I’d pretty much agree. Just bury them and continue on....less worry for the rest of us. More of a trend though....wouldn’t surprise me if Cincinnati starts to average 200 deaths a month from H.

If we would subscribe to the Darwinian world view, as the leftists insists, this is just a natural progression which we should encourage. Let them all die and leave the earth for the stronger strains of the species.

They should mandate strong warning labels on all heroin packages. /s

I don't feel sorry for dead junkies, only for the people they hurt.
Of course their families will mourn. Some of that will be mixed with relief.
Oh, and 0bama just released 214 "non-violent" drug offenders.

No one is worried about the very bad ALKY, who kills driving DUI. Or the damage they do in domestic violence or to themselves. I’ve got a younger brother who is nearly end stage ALKY who now wears 3x clothes and has diabetes and liver damage for which our tax dollars pay for his treatment and disability. All because of his government supported choice of life style. Over 50 so to old to have committed to forced rehab.

Maybe we should legalize it, like marijuana, to make it “safer.” /sarc

That’s a pretty bad jones, to do it not just in traffic but while passing through an intersection.

Sounds like people are trying very hard to escape a hellish existence, but in a way that won’t work.

This heroin with fentanyl caused a bunch of overdoses across southeastern Indiana yesterday too. The police are sure it’s coming out of Cincinnati. This is a massive number of overdoses for a rural area like this.

We should be concerned because we taxpayers end up getting a hefty bill and even more troubling is that Mexican black tar heroin dealers target immature youngsters and trick them into using. Black tar heroin is so addictive that it is not unusual that it takes just one time.

Whole communities in at least 17 states have been devastated because of black tar heroin (much worse than the Cartel's brown heroin). The odd part is that the black tar heroin dealers are under order to sell only to whites. And the money is funneled back into Mexico for more mischief.

“I don’t feel sorry for dead junkies, only for the people they hurt.”

But, but, but...libertarians have told us that drugs are a victimless crime. That’s their rationale for legalizing everything for everybody.

You mean all their dog-and-pony shows were just a ruse? Geez - who knew?

We’ve been told for a myriad of years not to touch dangerous, addicting drugs. If these mental midgets want to ingest this stuff, we can only hope their 1st trip is their last one!

pain is totally subjective...what you or I may call an ache others will demand oxycodone....others will demand hydros...
