There are some people who do not even get the larger message of the Word with respect to Sodom and Gomorrah. Not that God punished, but the efforts that were taken to head it off. The Abrahamic bargain, which would have held off the destruction if a mere 10 righteous men were left (10 men is a Jewish idiom for a solid witness).
I think no one is getting the message today either.
