Bought a 2008 Lancer Evolution new. 290HP AWD. It came with summer performance tires. Had to park it when it snowed. After 10K miles the tires turned into racing slicks. Replaced them with all seasons. No problem driving on plowed streets or a couple of inches. I couldn’t justify running 2 sets of tires.

The Evo is alot of car for the money.

My Mercedes came with all season tires on it. I was not happy with them in summer or winter. Now I run the Yokahama Ice Guards in winter.

I could tell the handling characterisitics difference between the tires. I prefer the handling of the summer tires, but there really isn’t any place to push it my area unless you auto cross.
