Otters Attack Teens at Lake in California

Two teens were allegedly attacked by a swarm of otters while enjoying a summer swim in California's Shasta Lake last weekend.

Chris Whitney, 13, told local ABC News affiliate KRCR-TV that three otters attacked him and his buddy Jacob Savage, 14, in the lake.

"They just kept getting at our legs and our feet," Chris said. "There was one that kept attacking us no matter what we did."

I live in the country and have a seasonal pond of about an acre.
Once in a while we are visited by otters.
They are absolutely fun to watch but they are wild.
They eat the frogs then leave.
Like dolphins in the sea, these creatures seem to just have fun.

These swimmers should avoid Brazil.

I recall one wildlife documentary saying the river otters were very dangerous. Big animal also.

I'm not familiar with Brazilian otters, but have met a few Brazilian beavers in my time.
