Trump to Air First TV Ads of General Election Campaign
WSJ ^ | 8/16/2016 | Beth Reinhard

As he continues to slip in the polls, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is poised to begin airing his first television ads of the general election starting Friday in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, according to a campaign adviser.

The upcoming ad buy was flagged with about 50 members of Congress in a conference call Tuesday afternoon with Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and two other staffers. Members were told the campaign would begin buying advertising more widely after Sept. 1.

Mr. Trump, who frequently boasts that he beat several primary challengers who spent far more money than he did, has yet to air a single television ad since he clinched the nomination. Mr. Trump spent only $20 million on ads through May—compared with $62 million by Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Add to your list, on September 26th, there will be the first debate. Even if Hillary’s diaper burst on-stage, the media will declare Trump a lost cause...and some GOP moron will still want to put up a replacement candidate.

I’ll believe it when I see it. So far, haven’t seen anything.

The Dems are determined to win here by fraud if necessary - the voter ID mess is a sign of their intentions.

Inviting the Green Party candidate on the stage would make it 3 on 1. Both Johnson and Stein have gone after Trump, but have had little to say about her heinous.

Perhaps. But there is conflict between the Greenies and the Dems. Greenies HATE Wall Streeters - and PIAPS is that, if anything.

All of them will hit Trump, but the 3rd Party folks will try and strip off Clinton’s support for ideological as well as political reasons. The 3rd Party folks will throw out positions forcing Clinton even further to the left, which will strip away more of the independent vote.

The greater percentage of the vote 3rd parties get, it helps them in future elections getting on ballots, establishing credibility, etc.

Another benefit is that having more people on stage naturally dilutes the debate so no all can be focused on one.

Pure conjecture on my part though! :)

He can turn around his “unfavorables” by eliminating gaffes.

“As Trump continues to slide in the polls”

The lying starts in the first paragraph.

IIRC they are not obligated to sell the time to him.

They could simply refuse to take the money. That’s unlikely but it is possible.

KFYI in Phoenix is a perfect example of your point. The talking head zombies of Clear Channel/iheartradio have been bashing middle class Americans since the moment Trump started to roll over the 16 GOPe munchkins. The only one I listen to now is Savage but the station he is on has a weak signal where I live, very frustrating.
