Trump to Air First TV Ads of General Election Campaign
WSJ ^ | 8/16/2016 | Beth Reinhard

As he continues to slip in the polls, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is poised to begin airing his first television ads of the general election starting Friday in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, according to a campaign adviser.

The upcoming ad buy was flagged with about 50 members of Congress in a conference call Tuesday afternoon with Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman Paul Manafort and two other staffers. Members were told the campaign would begin buying advertising more widely after Sept. 1.

Mr. Trump, who frequently boasts that he beat several primary challengers who spent far more money than he did, has yet to air a single television ad since he clinched the nomination. Mr. Trump spent only $20 million on ads through May—compared with $62 million by Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Yeah, nice bias WSJ....Trump's "slipped" right into a statistical tie in the last two polls released - Zogby Clinton +2 and USC/LATimes +1....

“As he continues to slip in the polls,”

Article starts with a lie. The MSM continues to act like no one is hip to their BS.

Shillary has to spend much more in ads to overcome her terribly negative image.

However, Trump’s unfavorable ratings are pretty high, too. I don’t know that there is that much he can do about that, but he does need to start running ads to hammer her on how she will continue the destruction of the economy and accelerate the inflow of terrorists and illegals into our country.

FReepers search out the news from reliable sources. But a lot of relatively low information types only hear what is run between their TV programs. Trump should start spending money, either donations or by self-funding, and release the dogs of war in the form of political ad blitzing.

Commence the carpet bombing of ads. Hillary and MSM tried to take Trump out this month. The problem is that Trump has withstood the attack and has a massive warchest to spend over the last 60 days. This is going to be fun.

He’s basically even now and hasn’t started the ad campaign yet.

Do PIAPS and MSM have any more tricks up their sleeve?

Perhaps one.

Getting the Libertarian candidate on the debate stage to tag team Trump.

If they try, Trump needs to demand the Green Party candidate be included as well.

Then let PIAPS fend off the Libertarian and Green candidates that will pummel her to attract Bernie voters.

Here’s the thing - Hillary’s unfavorables can be driven even higher with ads.

please excuse me but eff them.

I too am so sick of the enemy of the people media.

Everything on the radio on the ride in this morning, like always is anti-Trump.

I remmeber years ago before Weiner got found out every morning was a positive story about him and back then I knew he was scum.

In other words, Trump will start bribing the networks. Watch his “poll numbers” improve. The improvement/% will correlate with dollars spent one to one.

Finally

I agree. Mr. Trump should listen to us Freepers. Many of us were expressing our concern before the polling difficulties. Those constant arrogant-authoritative hillary distortions were having their impact in swing states. It might explain why Trump was losing the millenials. With advertising along the lines of his last two speeches, he should be able to break the evil spell they'd inflicted on low-information voters who constantly have their TV on.

Article starts with a lie.

That crap is straight out of the USSR. Pravda would begin editorials and news articles with "As everyone knows < insert falsehood here > ..."

$400 of that’s already come from me and there’s more where that came from.

Agreed. The MSM has a dilemma. As they hype Johnson to boost him to the 15% threshold more Hillary support will erode than Trump’s, IMHO. So they have to get Johnson over 15% without hurting Hillary which can’t be done.
