As he continues to slip in the polls, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is poised to begin airing his first television ads of the general election starting Friday in Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, according to a campaign adviser.
The upcoming ad buy was flagged with about 50 members of Congress in a conference call Tuesday afternoon with Mr. Trumps campaign chairman Paul Manafort and two other staffers. Members were told the campaign would begin buying advertising more widely after Sept. 1.
Mr. Trump, who frequently boasts that he beat several primary challengers who spent far more money than he did, has yet to air a single television ad since he clinched the nomination. Mr. Trump spent only $20 million on ads through Maycompared with $62 million by Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Very shrewd thinking.
People keep quoting Nate Silver, and that Trump has a 12% chance of winning. Nate was was amazingly wrong about Trump I the primary.

Reuters/Ipsos, the poll that changed to more favor Hillary is a week old.
Bloomberg is 9 days old
Economist/YouGov 8 days
ABC/WashPoo is 13 days
Everybody else is older still.
Talk about “creating” the news.
I used to spend barrels of money getting several copies of the print, online and even their stupid wine club. I cut it all off.
Is this the same WSJ that issued an ultimatum to Trump to drop out by Labor Day because his campaign is horrible? Yeah real unbiased outfit there and who owns WSJ? Well Ruppert Murdoch, small world isn’t it...
Watch what the candidates *do*, not what the media *says*.....
Stopped reading right there. WSJ mega bias to follow.
Just want to take a step back and review everything that has happened over the last year or so.
Trump announces his candidacy for President. Everyone laughs.
Trump beats first few opponents in debates. Media says he is dead on arrival.
Trump beats a few more opponents. Media says he is on last legs.
Trump beats a few more opponents. Media says legs have been cut out from under him.
Trump hits magic number. Is candidate, although Neo-cons, democrats (but I repeat myself) and media say he will never make it to the convention.
#NeverTrumpers form committee to take Trump out. Brings in failed candidates and their minions to look for replacement.
Convention comes to town and goes off without a
hitch. Americanism and Patriotism abounds. Neo-cons make another play not to endorse Trump. Democrats call convention a hatefest.
Trump accepts nomination. Paul Ryan is deeply saddened.
Meanwhile, Sanders, in a one on one battle with Clinton is even with her minus the superdelegates who have pledged allegiance to Clinton...or else.
Media has Hillary up 20 points on Trump. Election is over.
Clinton campaign, along with neo-cons spend upwards of one hundred million dollars to destroy Trump. Media (But yet again, I repeat myself) go full bore anti-Trump.
Trump has yet to run any real campaign ads.
And yet,
With everything the media, the neo-cons and the liberals have thrown at Trump, including bad poll numbers, bullcrap stories and flat out lies, while spending millions, Trump is within the statistical margin of error.
Yes hard hitting to the point and should move the numbers.
I hoped they were waiting until September to let loose the dogs of war
Should be very effective if Ithe Trump ads are as good as what’s been on YouTube
Let the carpet bombing commence ove labor day weekend!
“Continues to slip”?
Three polls now have it a 1-3 point race even WITH the D-heavy polling bias.
UPI is only 3.5
Thanks for that great assessment, I’m sending it to my “Oh no, the sky is falling friends”.
Bingo. The MSM is a protection racket.
“As he continues to slip in the polls”
That’s been the meme all week...even though there has been a slight tightening in the polls.
Yes, slipped in the polls but recovered, but apparently no one pays attention in August.
Exactly. Always has been.
