Amber Hill considers herself a ‘typically girly teenager’ with a penchant for pink. Until, that is, she picks up a 12-bore shotgun and shoots clays out of the sky with the kind of accuracy that has her ranked among the favourites for a gold medal at the Olympics. She does have personalised pink cartridges and the £8,000 gun she calls her ‘baby’ is decorated in eye-catching shades of orange and black. She even reveals an ambition to perhaps become a beauty therapist one day, having completed a course before her focus had to shift exclusively to Rio.

They make a woman’s butt wiggle in a very enticing way when she walks in them. I had the privilege of following Neesa Ballard into a building once and I’ll never forget it.
