I don’t think that would work very well in hot climates, you’re going to bake in there. It won’t deal well with chop, either. Why wouldn’t you just get a small houseboat or pontoon?

Portability would be an asset on the Sealander, compared to something larger like a houseboat.

Pontoon boats would be comparable in price, but houseboats are a lot more expensive. In addition houseboats need to be placed into the water and kept there, as transporting them around is not really that easy.
