The bombs are almost certainly far underground and can be covered by a massive amount of concrete and dirt in case of dire emergency by detonating charges. SOP for this sort of thing.
If it gets dicey I’d get as many personnel out by air as I could so they don’t go up in smoke if it comes to the last resort. :-/
My bet is that part of Obama’s plan is for the nukes to end up in the hands of the Islamic’s.

I don’t think keeping the NATO status is part of the future. Every step taken, is to separate itself from NATO, the EU, and western civilization.
As the fuel reserves start to run out....they will probably try to run some ‘Berlin-airlift’ type operation for a couple of weeks, but you can only go so far.
The plan is to make it miserable enough that the Americans pack and go. Curious strategy but I’m sure friendly neighbors of Turkey will appreciate it without any NATO help.
