Due to a tremendous need for security at the Republican convention this week, policemen from all over the country came to Cleveland to work the event.
An arrangement was made to house many of these police at Case Western University, but students complained that they wouldnt feel safe with all those cops on campus. So the school cancelled all activity for the week.
Campus Reform reported last week:
Cleveland students protest mere presence of cops on campus for RNC (snip)
Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) will close down most campus activity next week as administrators fear rioting outside the RNC may spill over onto their campus five miles away, The New York Times reports.
Student have started a Change.org petition asking the administration to guarantee student safety while 1,900 police and National Guardsmen are housed at CWRU, and to limit the officers privileges during their stay. The petition had garnered just 360 signatures at press time, out of a goal of 500.
Chris Sheridan, a CWRU vice president, told The Times that many black students are concerned over the police presence, explaining that in light of the national climate, they had concerns about police officers on campus in close proximity to them with weapons.
This is the text of the student petition: (snip) Greg Gutfeld covered this on his show Sunday night. He and his panel had a good time with the story, watch below:

Used to be a good school.
Poor wittle snowflakes. They’re all going to go to their “safe spaces”, curl up into the fetal position and suck their thumbs.
Good God what a stupid, cowardly nation we have become.
And well they should fear the presence of law and order on campus. The extreme libertine character of this and many other student bodies makes them vulnerable to the outside influence of law and order.
I seriously don't know whether to laugh or cry.
Con job. I’d bet money a lot of them will join the protesters.
The irony is, the cops are there to deal with rioting leftists, not because conservatives are going to go on a rampage. Therefore, if it weren’t for liberals, we’d have much less need of cops.
Any taxpayer money going to this “institution” should be stopped immediately.
They ‘fear cops’ but will all use the day off to waltz on down to the convention center to spoil for a confrontation WITH them!
Wonder how many of these losers are affirmative action admissions...
The social structure(s) that manufactured them (attend your local HS board meetings) have everything to do with planting whatever seeds they like in the fertile mind of a psychologically disarmed and trusting youth.
Go ahead ... I DARE you .... try to audit a public HS class .... or just ask permission to sit in a cafeteria to see how it operates.
YOU, Jane and Joe parent of a child Public ... must have clearances in order to do any of those things.
By design.
Hey, if there's a riot, they want to be in on it rather than going to class, even though the professional rioters seem to be a lot more timid than they have in other places.
Where are all the Black Panthers who were going to bring guns to the convention? I guess they either found out that Ohio's open carry rules only apply to valid CCW license holders. Or they saw how many middle class white people were LEGALLY open carrying, because unlike the Black Supremacists, they can pass the background check required to obtain CCW.
Now that's just... amazing.
Not safe from cops? They have really internalized the leftist idea that this country is fundamentally bad.
Leftist agitators, cop killers, anarchists and the like should fear the cops.
Keep the cops there longer to keep the school closed longer.
Whaaaaaa! There aren’t enough yellow crayons in the safe place room.
Therefore, if it werent for liberals, wed have much less need of cops.
Lest I be charged with plaigirism(sp?), I must credit the movie “Courageous”, which was about cops and fatherhood. One of the cops in that movie said that most of what they deal with out in the streets, would not happen, if more young men had fathers involved in their lives.
off topic, but with the liberals pushing the plagerism thing at the GOP convention, how many of us use cliche expressions, or express ideas that are common knowledge, every day???
