Urinating in the streets, vandalised light sockets and pushy crowds: [tr] [Shanghai Disneyland]
UK Daily Mail ^ | July 18, 2016 | Carolina McGuire

According to Disney, their theme parks are 'where dreams come true,' but according to recent video footage of one man's visit to the new Shanghai Disneyland, a lot of nightmare manners also surface. In the new YouTube clip, an American-Chinese man called Disney Dwayne takes a tour of the new theme park and points out all of the aspects that he was shocked by during his two-day visit. They included a woman helping a young boy to urinate in a public place, an electrical socket ripped from a wall and children freely playing in an off-limits display area.

My daughter was there last summer, men public urinating everywhere, just complete culture shock, but after a few weeks she got use to it.

I lived in a complex with Chinese. Grandparents watched the kids during the day and had the kids pee outside wherever they happened to be.

Did you go thru the whole slideshow at the link? There’s a lot more than public peeing in there...

Apparently this Chinese-American had never been to China before. The vast majority of infant jumpers and onesies in China are crotchless, and parents hold the child up to “let fly” (from both ends), in just about any public settings. This is an author trying to stir up controversy where there is none.

About 3 weeks ago I was waiting for an elevator with my son and 6 other people. It arrived and out of the blue 2 elderly Asians pushed past me and everyone else to get on first. I barked loudly “hey, you can’t cut the line”! They looked startled, like no one ever called them on their rude behavior before. When the elevator stopped the Asian couple got out and immediately started speaking in that awful sing-song nasally language. Ignorant and unassimilated. Oh, and they act like pigs in the health club too.

He had to, too much smoke in the men’s rooms in China. That’s where men go to smoke.

I saw the same with Chinese in parks in NYC back in the 80s.

Dumping toilets onto the railroad tracks was common in the US until sometime around the 1960’s. There were signs in each bathroom cautioning not to flush while the train was in the station.

You are right...I totally forgot. What got me was the boats dumping straight to the river water...right next to our drinking water inlet pipe.

To the tune of “Humoresque”:

Passengers will please refrain
From flushing toilets while the train
Is standing in the station. I love you.
We encourage constipation
While the train is in the station.
Moonlight always makes me think of you.

If you simply have to go
When other people are too slow,
There is only one thing you can do.
You’ll just have to take a chance,
Be brave, and do it in your pants,
But I’ll forgive you, darling. I love you.

They’re not shy in the least about passing gas, either.

I think you hit the nail on the head, unassimilated.

They may not even realize they’re being rude or doing anything wrong. But the rest of us shouldn’t need to change our culture or rules of civility to accommodate them.
