Track Palin, son of former Gov. Sarah Palin, has entered a plea agreement with the state in a special court for veterans for charges of punching a woman in the face at the family's Wasilla home in January.
Kevin Fitzgerald, Track Palin's attorney, said Friday his client had opted into Anchorage Veterans Court a move Palin had been considering since May during a Monday proceeding.
Court records show the agreement involved the state dropping two of three misdemeanor charges against Palin, including domestic-violence assault and interfering with the report of a domestic-violence crime.
"As a condition of his entry into that court the state dismissed the first two counts," Fitzgerald said. "Track pled to misconduct involving weapons (in the fourth degree), concerning being under the influence and having a firearm."
Palin served with the U.S. Army in Iraq for a year starting in September 2008.

What’s the point of posting the trash?
Track, you’re supposed to be redneck, not white trash....
If only we had as much media coverage of Zero and the Butcheress of Benghazi’s criminal misconduct as we do of the children of a GOP Vice-Presidential candidate from 8 years ago.
Opting for a “Veterans Court .”
Still learning something new sometimes.
Trump was being trashed for not having Sarah speaking at the RNC.

This shows she’s a little busy.
News.
And I find the “Anchorage Veterans Court” very interesting and worthy of looking into.
Well, didn’t they WANT the ladies to be egalitarian in the US military? Isn’t this an ordinary soldiers’ brawl? /sardonic cubed
I think her husband’s still laid up, too.
This is so outrageous that all Republican officeholders everywhere should resign. And be prosecuted.
Suicide attempts aren’t trash
The struggle was an attempt to get gun from him.
Check the archives from time when Sarah was speaking with Trump in Arizona for the entire story
We have a Veterans Court here as an alternative sentencing option as well. It’s extremely intense. Closely supervised and ton of mandatory requirements in order to successfully complete the program. Alternative sentencing is really good in many instances for some people (drug courts, mental health courts, veterans cpurts, etc. Not everyone is best served being locked up or just serving straight probation, so the alternative sentencing programs can be a good option for many. Most people not involved in the criminal justice system are completely unfamiliar with it, so it’s understandable that people would think a “veterans court” sounded strange but a lot of jurisdictions have them.
I’m convinced McPain chose Palin as his running mate in order to sinure his loss . No that he he didn’t do a good job of throwing it on his own .
Due to his domestic violence conviction from this, he will be banned for life from possessing firearms.Pretty stupid.
His pick of her was the proverbial “throwing a bone to the base.” He needed to shore up the base and in picking Palin, he figured the base would come a runnin’ to popa...and it did. Regardless of who he chose, in no way he was ever going to beat the kenyan.
It sounds like something that needs to be observed closely by other states and jurisdictions.
I have long said, we need something for these guy and gals who really put it on the line. In my opinion, every one of them that saw that elephant needs counseling and counseling by their peers. Others who have “been there, done that”. It not a disorder or a disease or anything for the shrinks. It is things seen that cannot be unseen.
Good on Alaska.
The way I read it is that the Domestic Violence and Interfering with the report of a domestic-violence crime Charges were dropped. The one he Pled Guilty to “Misconduct involving weapons” will be expunged if he successfully completes the terms of his sentence. If not then they can revisit the case and bring the other charges.
The ONLY reason I voted for Juan McLame was BECAUSE of Sara Palin.
There is one thing that elites do much better; keeping their family’s indiscretions private.
