Fish and Wildlife estimates around 143,000 bald eagles and 40,000 golden eagles in the U.S. and believes the current population can handle an additional loss of numbers.

In other words, they have no idea.

Looking back at previous failed liberal policies, I expect the American Bald Eagle to become extinct in the not too distant future, but at least we'll have gazillions of wind turbines blotting out the countryside so we'll feel good about it.

I’m pretty sure the federal bureaucracy could endure some substantial losses up to and including entire subspecies.

Let’s see the ELF terrorists start blowing up windmills. Pass the popcorn.

Except they won’t. Not to save the symbol of American liberty.

We have an Eagle who regularly flies over our place. I’ve been known to just shut the tractor off to sit and watch. Such a grand bird. I don’t use any chemicals on our 10 acre lawn. It is full of mice, toads, chipmunks, tree rats (squirrel) and occasionally see a mink roll through. I am waiting for the day I get to see the big bird eat.

“bald Eagle” is a code-word for “conservative white male”.

We have a telephone pole in front of the gate on the road below. It’s a favorite eating place for local Golden Eagles, Hawks, and Falcons. Often, sometimes daily we see them with their latest catch chowing down, dropping the bones, and other parts they don’t want off the side of the upper cross timbers supporting the electrical wires. It’s not something most folks would appreciate. Kinda disgusting actually.

Could it be because their beloved windmills and solar power are killing them all?

The headline makes it sound like the Feds have control over whether eagles live or die.

Awfully reminiscent of the Chinese government which gives or withholds permission for Buddhists to reincarnate and Christians to be saved or not.

She certainly is. I’ve seen Chicken Hawks get after the local Canadian Goose goslings. They dive down and then is looks like a pillow exploded. These geese don’t migrate anymore and are kind of pain. They’ll walk a half mile to crap on the sidewalk.

Bove says the driving force behind the change is the expansion of wind energy across the country. He says wind farms have caused the deaths of bald and golden eagles.

...

If the proposed change is approved, Bove says the government will allow 2,000 golden eagles and up to 6,000 bald eagles to be killed each year without penalty. Right now, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services allows around 1,000 deaths.

Meanwhile, if a serf so much as picks up a Bald Eagle feather, that serf will have his ass thrown in jail for up to two years and fined $250,000.
