Andy has written many brilliant tunes over the years. It’s a shame his stage fright prevented XTC from carrying on live.

That being said, I’m not a fan of his politics. He’s as loony left as it gets.

Is Andy Partridge the grandson of Davey Jones and Susan Dey?

If you’re an XTC fan, you’ll like this...Colin Moulding with “Days Between Stations”.

No kidding. I always loved their music. He and Moulding were great writers and musicians.

More XTC-ish than Monkees.

Don’t care for it—it doesn’t sound like the Monkees.

I was fortunate to see XTC in a relatively small club on Long Island just after Dave Gregory joined the band . In fact I think it was Dave’s first US gig . Super great show !

Terry Chambers has always been one of my favorite drummers, but he dropped off the face of the Earth after he left XTC.

That’s like saying a Beatles fan didn’t like Magical Mystery Tour because it didn’t sound like She Loves You ! ^_^ If The Monkees had stayed together all these years you think they would have sounded the same as in 1967 ?

He moved to Australia . I have a 2 hour interview with him done via telephone about 15 years or so ago . It was done privately by a guy in Australia by the name of Paul Culnane . Terry was a bit reticent at first , but really opened up along the way . I’ve also got the one Paul did with Andy around the same time . Paul sent me cassettes , and I had them put onto CDR .

A sample of how good they were live, including one of my all-time favorite tunes, “Jason and the Argonauts”

Well, The Monkees DIDN’T stay together, and so the only “sound” we have as a basis for comparison is from the Sixties. This track is poppy but doesn’t sound at all like The Monkees.

I’m a drummer . Loved Terry’s playing but if I had one ( minor ) criticism of his playing it would be that he tended to play too many cymbal crashes . Apparently Andy and the band didn’t agree with me lol .
