If the bicyclist was going downhill, maybe half a chance. Uphill? No way...

Why wasn’t he wearing a tinkling bell to scare off the grizzly? Oh wait, those are for black bears.

this is like someone walking along a deep florida lake and having no idea “What Lies Beneath”.
This is also like speeding in Maine at night. dont these drivers know what crosses the road, and that it may wind up on your side of the windshield?

Yeah, there’s this funny thing that some hikers put up saying that you should hang a little bell on your backpack. The black bears will run to avoid the sound; cougars are curios and grizzly’s will not. The way you know what bear attacked a backpacker is that little bell in grizzly skat.

Some Kodiak Island bears are known as “dinner bell bears” and will head towards gunfire during deer season, looking for the gut pile first. Two guys got jumped by a big brownie while dressing out their kill with one getting mauled, and his partner is trying to shoot the bear - which he did, after first shooting his buddy in the bottom of his foot with a .338. Those two men had a rough day.

Never go biking alone and when you go make sure you are faster than the other guy.
