It was strange how Varys was in Dorne w/ Olenna and the SandSnakes, but then somehow managed to be back on a boat as Daeny’s fleet sailed towards.

Also, the promotion of female leadership by HBO seems a bit over the top ... perhaps timed for the upcoming election?
- SandSnakes, after stabbing their prince, declare that a weak MAN will never rule them again.
- Daenarys and Yara make statements about how their fathers were evil men and how its time for women to lead
- Weak leadership by all of the Stark vassals except for they young Mormont princess, who gives all of those weak men a well deserved tongue lashing.

I was waiting for someone else to point out that trend in GOT. It is advancing a girl power theme.

"It was strange how Varys was in Dorne w/ Olenna and the SandSnakes, but then somehow managed to be back on a boat as Daeny’s fleet sailed towards."

Yeah, that is kind of jarring. Maybe Daenerys had a dragon pick him up and transport him to the fleet.

"Weak leadership by all of the Stark vassals except for they young Mormont princess, who gives all of those weak men a well deserved tongue lashing."

That hasn't been lost on me either. Jon Snow is not stupid tactically. Yet in the battle, he and his army would have been wiped out but for the timely entrance of the troops of the Vale, with Sansa and Littlefinger at the head. I like little Lady Mormont. Though she scolded the men who didn't back Jon, and while the women seem to be forming leadership which is going to bring peace and harmony, in reality it is still the men who do the bulk of the fighting and dying. I'm not saying that the females are not capable of personally engaging in the fighting, but they are generally not very effective. It's the men who are going to get the job done. And remember that though Daenerys was willing to burn the cities of the Masters to the ground, it was Tyrion who counseled her to consider a better option. She too has a genocidal tendency if not counseled out of it.

(I still smile when I think of her meeting with the Khals at the temple.)

Considering the first book was published in 1996 I would say no.

Now there are other shows out there that are definitely pushing that but the "A Song of Fire and Ice" series gets a pass.

The point of that was to show that a lot of TIME just went by.

That is VERY important, because TIME would be needed for the King of the Iron Islands to build his “largest fleet the world has ever known”. I believe that fleet will play an important role in the coming season.

Michael Lombardo who is an activist faggot and is the gatekeeper for HBO projects insists on the gay angles being injected outside the book nauseatingly

Ditto the fembot crap which is more HBO brass meddling

I have a relative by marriage fairly high up the HBO executive ladder

We’re it the Empire State Building she’d be on a floor in the high 80s

Closet conservative....she has to be....HBO ferociously molds shows to fit their politics and with GOT they go way outside the books posturing

But it’s still a good ADULT fantasy medieval show

The best ever in my opinion.....simply incredible

The burning of the Sept was foreshadowed a lot when talking about the mad king burning it all down....we knew that medieval napalm was somewhere

I see it all differently

Dany goes south and Snow colludes with White Walkers and the undead

I see Eddaeds brother coming back as a link to that and how so much revolves around the Starks as the only group that always does the selfless thing

PC people complain the Starks represent old Saxon England set upon by a corrupt EU and brown world encroaching

Like a big allegory

People are funny

Today Martin and Weiss and Benioff and the other guy are hammering out the screenplay from unwritten chapters so who really knows

We caught up with the book

What if God forbid Martin dies?

What an imagination.....he claims he started all this cause he wanted more Tolkeinish entertainment but for edgy

It is all that and I can sure see why some are offended....I hate the occasional gratuitous nonsensical gay garbage like with Oberyn Martell

I have noticed this as well. Not only on GOT, but elsewhere.

On Preacher, the Preacher is a fairly clueless dude, but his former sidekick, Tulip, is driven and kicks ass.

On Killjoys, the leader of the mercenaries is a woman.

On Hunters, the leader of the CIA group hunting the alien terrorists is a woman.

There is, of course, Secretary of State, which was one long Hillary Clinton commercial.

In fact, thinking back to just about every action show or movie I have seen in the past year, women have been either leaders or in a leadership role.

Varys and Littlefinger seem to have access to jetpacks or transporters.

;-)
