Coming into a treasure-trove of documents that included a cashier's check payable to Bill Clinton, Whitewater prosecutors have pieced together previously unknown transactions at an Arkansas savings and loan, people familiar with the probe say.
Thousands of pages of documents pulled from a tornado-damaged car last March have taken the investigation in "new and interesting directions," said one source...
A featured exhibit at several grand jury sessions was a cashier's check for almost $30,000 to Clinton, several witnesses say.
The discovery of the 1982 Clinton check and other documents missing for a decade has opened a new line of inquiry by prosecutors into whether Clinton testified accurately about his relationship with James and Susan McDougal and their failed Arkansas savings and loan, the witnesses said.
The president swore under oath last year that he "never borrowed any money" from the McDougals' failing Madison Guaranty S&L.
The president's Whitewater lawyer, David Kendall, questioned the authenticity of the documents yesterday, saying they may have the credibility of a "freshly written Elvis autobiography,"...
Deborah Gershman, a spokeswoman for Starr's office, declined to comment.
Kendall said that "if authentic," the check appears likely to have been one issued in the amount of $27,600 to pay off a loan at a bank owned by McDougal - a $30,000 loan he said McDougal took out in August 1981 to provide capital at the Whitewater real-estate venture jointly owned by the Clintons and the McDougals. "Neither the president nor Mrs. Clinton had signed for this loan," Kendall said.
Kendall was unavailable to discuss why, in that case, Madison would have issued a check to Clinton or how that squares with the president's statement that he never borrowed money from McDougal's savings and loan.

Because BenLurkin must have found it in the/his? archives and decided to bring it forward for all those who don't remember or were'nt old enough to care during those days.
It’s an archive article from 19 years ago. It’s not an AP story from today.

Does anyone remember this or is it only me?
Yeah...I remember it...
The "unexpected acceleration across the road high speed"...into an electric pole at high speed....resulting in the death of the driver and mechanic who found the trunk load of documents with the said check on top.
But what happened to the guy that was supposed to dispose of the car and contents......?
I’m on cell phone so you can’t click on url.

The Lord moves in mysterious ways. A tornado revealed an interesting link to an on going attempt to take our country back. As a country we may no longer be blessed, but he might still have God’s ear.
The Clinton Foundation is just a money laundering and bribery scheme. Laundering money for intl drug cartels would be my guess. That money paying off politicians. Why do you think the southern border has been wide open under Bush and Obama? Follow the dirty money.
Doesn't matter half of Hillarys supporters don't even know about Whitewater or all the women Bubba molested. Time to let them know.

Texan swept into Whitewater drama
Published: Thursday, Nov. 13 1997
President Clinton is in the White House. His old Arkansas business partner James McDougal is in jail. And Henry Floyd, the man at the center of the latest discovery in the Whitewater case, is living in Austin, Texas.
Floyd is the man who abandoned his Mercury Marquis at a Little Rock repair shop nearly 10 years ago. This spring, a garage employee opened the trunk and found a 1982 cashier’s check for $27,000 payable to Bill Clinton from McDougal’s savings and loan.In the 1980s - back before Whitewater was a household scandal - Floyd was an employee of Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan, making deliveries to such prominent addresses as Clinton’s Governor’s Mansion and Hillary Rodham Clinton’s Rose Law Firm and later working as a collections officer and compliance officer.
Today, Floyd is a 36-year-old administrative technician for the Texas Department of Transportation, inputting information into computers and, in recent months, answering questions from Whitewater investigators.
“I didn’t want to be involved with this at all,” Floyd said Tuesday, five days after the Associated Press first reported his name. “At work, everyone has been very nice about it. I think a few of them are a little excited about it.”
Floyd says the whole thing has been less than exciting for him, especially when he had to leave work for a week in August because he was subpoenaed by Whitewater investigators in his hometown of Little Rock.
There, for the first time, Floyd was shown the cashier’s check found in the trunk of his old car. He said his hands started shaking.
