Jeez, pizza is not haute cuisine, it’s a step above street food. That’s one of the good things about it, anybody can whip it up a decent pie even if they have little to no culinary skills.
One of the worst pizzas of mylife was in Rome.
The worst was in Tokyo
YES - because Italian pizza is hated around the world, nobody eats it, and the craft is in danger of dying out. Government regulation is the only thing which will save it.

Absolute BS. Subject people to how much in expenses to make pizza?? Yes it’s an art to make a good one, and I make one of the best pizzas, so I know, but this is crap and an excuse to grow regulations and protect a syndicate.
What idiocy. If they want GOOD pizza, come and get it in the US. Italian “pizza” is pretty pathetic.
I haven’t eaten pizza correctly since I saw a movie where
Sophia Loren bought a slice on an Italian street, folded it
in two like a sandwich & wolfed it down. I still eat it
like an amateur.
I would love to be forced onto a plane to Italy to learn this art. Thats my kind of tyranny. While I’m there maybe they’ll detain me and force me to be trained in gelato making, jacquard looming, glass blowing, Ferrari building, etc.
All those regulations are is a game of follow the money.
” which will be recognized in all European countries.”
Of all the reasons for Brexit, this may be the critical one.

All we are saying, is give pizza a chance.
“Italy wants new law to protect the art of pizza-making”
The friggin’ country is being invaded by the degenerate Muslims and THIS is what they worry about? Europe is doomed.
I’ve been making my own pizza’s for years.
Dough from scratch, San Marzano DOP tomato’s...
Here is the best place to start.

What more do I need to know?
Long as someone doesn't try to put cucumbers on a pizza, they're fine.
Neither asked nor answered in the article is whether the number of pizza licences will be limited like NYC cab medallions. Is this really just a misguided consumer protection effort or is it an attempt to create a protectionist racket preventing new restaurants from entering the market?
Pathetic.
But sounds partly like the licensing garbage we have by the boatload in this country.
Protectionism. Exactly what it is - so others can’t get in on the self-employment ride.
I remember. It was Trieste in Vicenza.
Don’t ask.
