I believe that ruling only applies to felons (No, I’m not kidding). A felon commits a crime by even touching a gun let alone trying to buy one. Charging him for lying when he checks the ‘No’ box on the 4473 asking if he’s a felon, is the self-incrimination bit.
No, gifts are technically illegal too. You’re safest just buying a gift certificate or giving cash and allowing the person to buy it themselves. In no case should you mention giving the gun to someone else.
Being a journalist does not excuse lying on the form. They lied and must pay the penalty.
I believe gifts (within the same state) are fine. However, the giftee cannot pay you for it. That constitutes a straw purchase. Some states (but not most) will require that even a gift has to go through a dealer and a background check. As soon as you start to cross a state line things get complicated.
According to Freud, a fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.
If i had a shop and the skank had come in and IDed herself as a newspuke
that would have been enough to get her undesirable ass tossed from the store.
You could even smile and say “Sorry, that has already been promised to someone else.” for everything in the place.
Yep. Reference post #5.

Remember David Gregory committed a gun crime on live TV, and nothing was done to him:
Everyone should take great pride and comfort knowing we have a Criminal Organization broadcasting over the PUBLIC AIRWAVES!!
