Mama bear. Don’t mess with her.
There have been three fatal mountain lion attacks in Colorado since 1991.
I wonder what she did to make the animal let go of her son. I have Jack Russel Terriers and occasionally the 2 males will fight. The only way I can break them up is to drag the dogs outside and turn the water hose on them until they think they are drowning.
They shot the mountain lion.
Stand by for massive protests.
Same situation as Disney World. There everyone is looking for somebody to file a case on. The fact is you can’t keep an eye on your kids all the time.
Wild animals are just that, WILD! Predators are doing their thing, hunting easy prey! Children are, by size definition, easy prey. Difference here is that, unlike Disney, there is no aura of the Magic Kingdom where all is marshmallows and creme-puffs. We lost a puppy to a large raccoon in the Low Country of South Carolina and it did make us wake up a bit. Dangers lurk all around and the wise person, especially a parent, never should lose their awareness of possible peril.

What a bunch of liberal, feel good, claptrap.
Their problems are sure to worsen.
No doubt a Tea Party Right-Wing Extremist lion...
I posted this happening before on one of George 76’s mountain lion posts.
My wife had as patients a grandmother and grandfather, who had a cabin in a remote area in the Lake Tahoe area.
The woman had seen cougars a couple of times and was concerned and her husband laughed at her.
They went up after a winter to re open their cabin. She was inside cleaning and dusting, while her husband was shopping for groceries. She heard their 110#+ Rottweiler bark, growl and suddenly give out a terrible howl.
She looked out the window to see their dog being dragged away by a big cougar.
When her husband returned with the groceries, he asked where their Rotty was.
She was dressed, packed and ready to return home, she told her husband their Rotty was probably part of the food chain beginning with a big cougar.
Then, she told her husband it was past time to leave, “If you don’t, I’m leaving you with the cougars.”
He saw the blood trail and crushed weeds where Rotty had been dragged. He got his stuff back in their SUV, and they left and sold the place.
Their grandkids had played where Rotty met his end.
