Hispanics make up 39 percent of the new cadet class, in a department that is 27 percent Hispanic, while Asian and Pacific Islanders make up 21.9 percent of the new cadets, or triple the percentage of current officers of that ethnicity.
The percentage of black cadets is 16.4 percent, slightly above department demographics, despite efforts by Mayor Bill de Blasio to increase the force’s African-American makeup to 23 percent from the current level of 15 percent.
The percentage of whites is 19.8 percent, with the force at 50 percent.

It’s not 44% “white” it’s 35% while because the difference of 10% are Hispanic whites. (I know hard concept for people.to understand Hispanic is not a race).

I hadn’t realized the Cubans had been involved in the Revolutionary War.
History books focus on Lexington and Concord. They don’t do justice to the role of the southern colonies. They do mention the Swamp Fox but not much else. The role of Cuba or the other islands isn’t well covered.
I do know the English kept some of their prisoners down in the islands but I’m not sure which ones.
You would do a good service if you could tell us more.
