“Surgical procedures are now widely accepted in the medical community as medically necessary treatment for gender dysphoria,” the medical diagnosis required for a transgender person to have sex-reassignment surgery, the proposed rule change said. “Recent medical research shows that gender dysphoria is a serious condition that has had severe medical consequences for certain patients if transition-related surgeries and procedures are not provided.”
The move tracks a broader push by the government to accommodate transgender people and a growing battle with states that see federal overreach.

The VA can’t get out of its own way handling its current workload. Arguably it’s just about the most incompetent and unaccountable faceless bureaucracy the feckless fools in Washington has ever created, and boy wonder is now adding to its responsibilities. I wonder what this latest boondoggle will cost taxpayers?

The way the VA operates nowadays, if they added sex changes, then their entire service coverage would be waiting list assignment and sex assignment.
They complain about not having enough money for basic care. My husband almost lost a leg over what had been a mild case of edema, because they didn’t have anyone trained to deal with it.

It isn’t of course, but an ailment doesn’t have to be service related for a vet to get treatment for it. Service related just means no copay.
I have no objection to Bradley having the operation as long as it is done, Sans drugs/anesthetics, done with an industrial orbital sander and video taped! Pay TV, could help pay for it.
