Good. If the public school wants those students back next year, they need to show improvements and maintain those improvements.

In OH, besides private schools and charter schools, there’s a very vigorous and well advertised public home school option. I could envision even more parents choosing that if the bathrooms and locker rooms are going to be even less safe than they are now.

The only thing that will ever really fix government schools is if there is creative destruction via the marketplace. Until then, expect high-cost mediocrity, or worse.

Well, it wont be with the LA Unified. I know more than a couple of students and they told me the same thing, that the teachers dont give a shiite. A bud of mine even told me in their school, every kid at competition is given a trophy as not to “hurt” the feeling of the losing kids.

Good move. More text books, pencils and erasers. Fewer condoms, less environmental and sexual deviant propaganda.

... depleting millions in per-pupil funding from district budgets.

If the students have left, what does the district need the per-pupil funding for?

Well, one way the schools could save money is by refusing to enroll illegal aliens according to the proposition that CA voters passed back in the 90s. Sadly, the voters were ignored and CA schools still enroll illegals. It’s costing a fortune.

It’s not the students. It’s the parents choosing Charter schools I stead of public.

The schools don’t want to save money. If it wasn’t for the illegal aliens, many places would have few public school students, and there go all those great Democrat patronage jobs and contracts.

Liberals are attempting to unionize the Charter Schools and we’ll be right back where we started from if that happens.

Getting liberals and their unions out of schools will solve the problem. It created the problem, after all.

If the indoctrination centers weren’t so busy trying to convert straights into gays and Christians into Muslims, and that patriotic people are terrorists they probably wouldn’t have this problem...

And the way for that to happen is for individual schools to be able to go out of business due to user choice.

Consider who promoted it in the first place.
Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
That is the tenth plank of communism, from the second chapter of the Manifesto. Like the rest of the planks, it is designed to rip apart civil society by attacking the family and morality and replacing it with worship of the state.
