I have a contractor who works on a property I manage. Super guy. He is in to the local Shriners organization in a big way. I forwarded a picture of him in a parade to the owner of the property. The owner's response was, "He's into all that stuff."
Am I missing something? Yes, I have heard about the Masons' connection to the Shriners but all they do to help sick, particularly burned children is pretty ok in my book.
Think you meant to say "NOT Roman Catholic" but the boss may very well be (which would explain his tone of voice as belittling.)
Fourteen US presidents were Masons, starting with Washington and ending with Ford. Both Roosevelts, Truman, Taft - both parties.
...the Shrine is not connected to Arab culture or Islam..
Why the red Fez with crescent moon and sword symbol?
Just asking...
Wise decision.
You’re going to find on this thread lots of fear and ignorance about the masons and the Shriners.
The dumbing down of American continues with no one having experience at anything but they sure do think they know everything.
“It’s all fun until they start driving tiny panzers down main street.”
I needed a good laugh this morning, thanks!
I think that the Shriners Hospitals is one of the organizations to which we donate. They have an excellent reputation.
Probably for the same reason that there were Union infantry regiments that dressed up in French Zouave uniforms in 1861...it looks colorful. But I guess some folks will think that they are acutally moslems. And what about all of those “Greek” fraternities and sororities in colleges, Are they really preserving ancient Greek culture?
If your photo of the Moslems from the southern USSR who were recruited into the SS during WWII is suppose to show that Shriners are SS Nazis, my comment is— how sick.
It was a joke, I know the shriners have nothing to do with Nazis.
Some folks dont want FreeMasons, blacks, Shriners, Knight of Columbus, queers, KKKers, muslems, Christians, white Christians, white balding successful Christians with European ancestry, Mexicans, or those who smell differently from themselves, being within their sphere of existence. That is their right.
I am confident that, without governmental interference, The market will produce what it can and their will be a fair and equitable price for goods and services for both consumers and suppliers. It may cost more for you boss to get work done by adding personal qualifications to the people he gives his money to, but that is entirely his decision.
Good, because I didn’t.
Like most American presidents, Washington’s religious beliefs were pretty sketchy. John Wayne died a Catholic, so we can be confident he renounced any Masonic past.
I thought that when you started driving tracked vehicles was when the fun started. :D
George Washington’s religious beliefs weren’t sketchy, he was a vestryman at his home church, Pohick Episcopal. He also attended Christ Church in Alexandria, and attended church daily when in Philadelphia and New York.
If the Masons are so secretive, why do the(shriners) parade out in the open?
A treatment hospital whos main patient base is children, cures 4/5th of the cancer patients that visit and does it for free has to be the perfect cover for the evil conspiratorial specter that hides in the hearts of those that run the place.
And those tiny evil cars !!!!
thank you. I was hoping so.
I think you missed my point: tanks and howitzers are really cool — IOW I said nothing about either Shriners or Masons.
As a Mason, Washington could not in good conscience have held orthodox Christian beliefs about Jesus as the sole way to salvation.
