Target CEO Blames Weather For Tanking Business…No, Seriously
redstate.com ^ | 05/23/2016 | Brandon Morse

The dumpster fire that is the national superstore known as Target has had quite a rough time lately. And is it any wonder? They can’t seem to get their act together when it comes to pleasing their customers.

First they ban guns within their stores because “safety.”

Then they began allowing men into women’s restrooms because “equality.”

Then they are currently suing a guy who stopped another guy from stabbing a girl to death because…well, because they’re dumb.

The American people responded, and as can be expected, Target’s ship has begun to sink. Not only did well over a million people sign the petition to boycott the store, the stock is slipping into the drink. Fewer and fewer people want to shop there, because frankly the store is unsafe. Especially to women who can’t carry a gun into the restroom a man just followed them into, and no one can save her should something happen because Target might sue the rescuer.

This all seems pretty obvious, and in no way confusing. People don’t want to shop at Target, because Target is a bad place to shop.

This apparently isn’t obvious to the CEO, though. According to him, nobody wants to shop at his stores because of – and I can’t believe I have to report this – weather.

I’m not kidding. Target CEO Brian Cornell told the Wall Street Journal that the reason sales are down is because people just don’t want to go out and buy stuff because it’s raining outside in some parts of the country.

Despite weakness in the first half of the year, Target said it still considers its full-year earnings forecast “achievable.” Mr. Cornell said the spending slowdown at the start of the year was the result of consumer caution and unusually cold and wet weather in certain regions.

“It’s been a very wet and cold start to the year and it’s reflected in our sales,” he said. “We haven’t seen anything from a structural standpoint that gives us pause.”

Nothing but the million+ strong boycott, including those who haven’t voiced, yet refuse to shop. Apparently, the people speaking out against Target’s practices, and refusing to support them with their wallet, does not give the company pause.

I can’t think of a better way to signal to consumers that you don’t want their business.

Wasn’t it Eyeore who had the rain cloud following him? My son is 20 and I don’t remember exactly... :).

Walmart is Winnie the Pooh, being friendly (satisfying customers) while Target mopes and complains and can’t see it’s his own attitude that needs adjusting.

Hershey Park has just jumped on the bandwagon and announced that persons can use whatever restroom they feel like on any given day. I have a hunch that all the pervs and wierdos will be feeling feminine now.......but only when they are at Hershey Park.

And I say they can HAVE the blasted place. Just one more twisted place I do NOT need to visit.

“Delusionals”. Being delusional is now a protected and desirable class.

I hope everyone keeps the pressure on - having them go broke or forcing their idiotic CEO to resign would be a great examples for others thinking of making the same mistake.

Thanks to Free Republic a few weeks ago, I was persuaded to stop going to Target. Do I miss going twice a month? Kind of. The stores were always clean. However, anti-Christian policies are adding up and it is time to reject Target.

The recent rain forced my car to pass the Target parking lot and pull into the Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, Staples, and Best Buy parking lots. Amazing how that works.

There's a Target about 2 miles from my house that I've patronized over the years, but no more.
I was last there in Feb.'16 and spent about $100.

No more.

How many securities law violations is he going to commit with these false and misleading statements?

Exactly.
We have Menard's up here for the home stuff, plus tools, paints.

Gee it's a shame that Target decided to go through weathering this crisis of client change.>

I won't be back.

Based on what I am seeing locally, the empty parking lots are to blame.

There's actually a company that monitors parking lot traffic via satellite.
Results needed in real time.

I never thought of that: Target’s suing the guy that saved the little girl to keep women attacked or bothered in the restrooms from suing! Oh, well, I’ll never go there to be bothered. I used to go there a lot.
