This seems to happen most of the time with these so-called environmentalists. Not uncommon at all.
I would imagine a lot of the trash had REI labels on it. These A-holes aren’t poor, by any means. I had (well, made, actually) an occasion to drive past there a few times, making good use of horn and finger!

You should see the Washington Mall after Earth Day.
Another article said 52 were arrested after refusing to leave. I’m guessing they were processed and released that same day. Probably a lawsuit will be coming where the protestors will sue the police for chasing them out and confiscating all their good stuff.
“Yeah man - they just ran us off so they could steal my blue tarps and the cool sign I made.”
What were the pipes supposed to be used for? Derailing the trains? If so, lock them up and never let them out. Charge them with attempted murder.
Arlo wouldn’t have had a song if that were the case.

This wasn’t in Anacortes City limits as far as I know. It was Skagit County. I know this place quite well. My brother even works at one of these refineries.
About 150 people erected tents on the tracks and spent the night there. The pipes were for flags and banners flying above the tracks.
