Heck, I remember people dancing to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ldyx3KHOFXw

at a house party in South Central. Yup. DJ was set up in the garage. Food on folding tables in there and the yard.

The driveway was the dance floor.

Where the DJ found this record is beyond me...I guess he saw me dancing and thought I needed some help.

I love their music. We were lost in the mountains at night driving around trying to find the right turnoff.

The music from their eponymous first album was perfect for keeping us on edge but not going insane.

Saw them "live" if that's what you could call it. Definitely not a great live band.

One of the bigger soundtracks to my then-22-year-old life. :)

One good album and Ric Ocasek did OK for himself.

I’m not in the music business, but the Cars’ sound was so distinct to my ears, that when the band Weezer came out with an album in 1994, I said “this is very reminiscent of the Cars.” Sure enough, it was produced by Ric Ocasek. I love that wall of guitars and vocals they did on those first few albums.
