By the way, it’s posts like this that make me love FR, despite the sometimes bitter, rancorous flame wars that go on...

One good album and Ric Ocasek did OK for himself.

One of my favorites. A rarity “Take What You Want” was never included on an album, until a rarities package was issued, but it was played in their early days and still packs a wallop.

The first song of one of the best albums ever made.

But you can't hear "Moving in Stereo" without immediately thinking of this....

Todd R undgren filled in the lead as the new cars back in 2008. They were great. All the band except Rick. Uhh, Ben wasn't there neither.

Didn’t NOVAs turn out to be the worst dog-trackers ever?

it was fun,but as the years went on, the visors fell off,the rear view mirror fell off,the door panel pulled away from the door, the rear defog caught fire, all these things happened while I was driving it,then a big cluck in the drive train, maybe I abused it a little;)

Saw one just yesterday on the road. Pulled up next to me at a light.
It was good smelling an engine and exhaust again that hadn’t been run through a smog gizmo.

I’m not in the music business, but the Cars’ sound was so distinct to my ears, that when the band Weezer came out with an album in 1994, I said “this is very reminiscent of the Cars.” Sure enough, it was produced by Ric Ocasek. I love that wall of guitars and vocals they did on those first few albums.

I wanted a “68” Camero but my Dad said,”No,you’ll kill yourself”.
He was probably right.
