Republicans have a massive electoral map problem that has nothing to do with Donald Trump
Washington (com)Post ^ | 5-2-16 | Chris Cillizza

Politico reported today on a Florida poll conducted for a business group in the state that shows Hillary Clinton beating Donald Trump by 13 points and Ted Cruz by nine.

Why is that important? Because if Clinton wins Florida and carries the 19 states (plus D.C.) that have voted for the Democratic presidential nominee in each of the last six elections, she will be the 45th president. It's that simple.

While I agree Hillary has a tremendous edge over Trump (or whoever is the Republican nominee) based on the demographics of this country now, the article focuses only on Trumps unpopularity.

Hillary is only slightly less unpopular than Trump and Bernie people hate her. Independent voters may stay home as both Hillary and Trump have negatives over 70% with them.

Bottom line is 60% plus of the country can not stand Trump or Hillary. Both have an issue with their own parties voters. Cruz (and Kasich, Rubio, Carson, etc) people say "never Trump", they will vote third party or not at all. Bernie people say they won't vote for Hillary, they will stay home and few say they may vote for Trump.

This election has the making for low turnout. If Bernie people stay home, if Cruz and other Republicans who don't like Trump stay home and if independents stay home it's a matter of who turns out the base.

Still my prediction is Hillary wins by the same margin 0bama beat Romney with. She starts with 48% just for being a Democrat alone. This country is head deep in stupid. When its the lesser of two evils, people always tend to say the Deomcrat is the less evil one.

We will find out in November.

Trump’s unfavorables are at least more mutable. As people become more familiar with him, they could grow to like him more.

Whereas Hillary’s unfavorables are basically permanent. She’s more of an ancient hatred that’s lingered for decades.

This election has the making for low turnout.

Yet Trump will end up breaking records for republican votes in a primary season.

The difference between the democrats and republicans this year is that for the republicans, the one who is generating the energy and bringing people in is going to be the nominee. On the democrat side, the one who is generating the energy and getting participation is going to lose the nomination.

Republicans allowed Democrats to import millions of voters to overwhelm native voters

Yes....and part of the reason is that Hillary and Cruz are showing how their establishment parties lie all the time

Lying Ted and Crooked Hillary

Result is that Trump is attracting more voters....people coming out of the woodwork...first time voters and cross overs all going to Trump.

600 voters with Hillary having more than a 20 point lead with indy voters is definitely a biased propaganda hit piece that Politico is famous for. Trump has plenty of shortcomings and hurdles ahead but his strength with indy voters has been well substantiated with huge chunks of crossovers.

This election has there mankind for a low turnout.... On the Democratic side. Throw all the old rules out in this election season. They haven't and won't apply.

Just like the primary, Trump will focus on Hillary and start to chip away, quite easily I might add, against Hillary's image and base. Sanders supporters are gone once he leaves the race. And Trump appeals to crossover voters. Republicans haven't had that since Reagan.

Trump MUST have the courage to deport ALL NON-CITIZENS, because NON-CITIZENS give birth to ANCHOR BABIES.

Our only hope for survival as a country is to END the population growth of Mexicans, Muslims, and others from alien cultures inside our borders.

If the Demorgraphic Jihad has advanced so far that Hillary! cannot be defeated, then prepare for violent, bloody civil war, because Hillary! cannot be appeased or reasoned with.

Colorado went for Obama. However, in a Trump vs. Hillary matchup, Trump will win Colorado.

1.Colorado democrats are for Bernie, so much so that I have seen two Hillary bumper stickers in the last year, and certainly over a thousand Bernie stickers. Bernie supporters will not automatically go vote for Hillary, she will lose quite a few of them. A lot will stay home, some will vote for Trump.

2. The largest group of voters in Colorado are independents. Trump is picking those up.

3. Democrats in Colorado are split between blue collar/ latinos in the south, and socialists in Denver/Boulder. Trump can swipe the blue collar south from Hillary.

I would like to see Trump put an end to birthright citizneship, and also get rid of the "diversity Greencard lottery."

The Losercrats lost more ground in the House, Senate, Governorships, State Assemblies, etc. over the last eight years, and these pundits are still tripping over themselves declaring the election for Hillary.

The 14th amendment should be repealed, because the people it was meant to protect, freed slaves, are all deceased.

Repealing the 14th Amendment would vaporize a century or more of horrible Supreme Court decisions, including Roe vs. Wade.

A WaPo disinformation piece.

The Democrats are scared to death of Trump. They don’t care about Cruz. But they know that Trump can steal their base right out from under them, which Cruz can’t do. Blue collar workers in West Virginia (miners) have already told the Clintons they are not welcome in their state. That pattern is going to repeat itself over and over again across the country, with those disillusioned Democrat core constituencies voting for Trump.
