Trump sees a decisive Indiana victory at hand, gears up to take on Clinton
Washington Post ^ | May 2, 2016 | Philip Rucker,, David Weigel and Sean Sullivan

This was supposed to be the pragmatic Midwestern state that would deny Donald Trump the delegates he needs to secure the Republican presidential nomination. Yet on the eve of Tuesday’s critical primary, Indiana appeared poised to help the front-runner get closer to locking it up.

Trump campaigned Monday across the Hoosier State with characteristic gusto, boasting about his polling lead and endorsements from local celebrities and relishing a fight with likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Certain that victory was at hand, Trump predicted Tuesday’s balloting would bring the demise of top rival Ted Cruz. From here, he said, it is on to the general election.

“If we win Indiana, it’s over,” Trump declared at a boisterous Monday afternoon rally in Carmel. “They’re finished. They’re gone.”

The Indiana primary, with 57 delegates at stake, stands in the minds of many Republicans as the last major hurdle for Trump to clear. Cruz and his allies have poured every resource and maneuver at their disposal into the state in an urgent, last-ditch effort to derail the controversial billionaire mogul.

Is that compared to Cruz who boasts over and over (at least until last Tuesday) about winning five states with 1.5 million votes where in reality only 2 of those 5 states people actually voted? That kind of gracious?

Once Trump wins Indiana, I think he should stop mentioning Lyin Ted altogether.

A lot of that is up to Cruz.

I expect Cruz to be a sore loser again and have some sort of announcement the day after (Wednesday) to do what he can to deflate Trumps big win.

Trump always responds to that kind of thing, and that's what a lot of us really, really like about him.

Lyn' Ted will be part of the shtick for as long as Ted invites it.

To quote a great man; “Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser”.
No more needs to be said.

“For all the talk about how smart Ted is he sure hasn’t shown any of those smarts since he started running for President. IMHo, he lacks common sense”

Both of your assertions really do appear to be true: for a supposedly smart guy, Ted Cruz acts really stupidly.

I’ve been for Cruz since day one, but I’ll be voting for Trump. Not what I expected to do at the beginning of this process, but we need this thing to be over. I want no part of a contested convention.

Cruz using leftist victim pro-government language in personal attacks on Trump? Stick a fork in this guy.

Nailed it. I now tune out anyone who uses "hate" or any variation of it to smear a GOP candidate. I've been tuning out a lot of so-called conservatives this season.

” we need this thing to be over. I want no part of a contested convention.”

A sensible and wise attitude. I hope others will reach this same conclusion, including Cruz himself.

Giving up gracefully now is not just good for the Republican party and our chance to beat Hillary, but it is also the best thing for Cruz’ future.

Agreed...and now Cruz can go back to doing his job that I voted for him to do...which is a first term Senator..NOT President! I hope we can replace him next go round...

Laughably bad campaign.

Yeah, I suppose so. Much worse than the other 15 GOP competitors who dropped out one by one...

“which is a first term Senator”

Ted Cruz is not done yet. No matter what happens tomorrow, he will drag this out as long as there is money left. He began the most well funded candidate outside of Jeb, and had by far the most techno driven ground game in the history of politics. He had a small army of Camp Cruzers to attack any state at any time. And it all came crashing down.

His first setback, and it was huge, was losing the SEC primary so badly to Trump. Had that not happened Cruz would be on his way to Cleveland. His second, and most telling, was his losses in MO and ILL. It showed the false underbelly of his campaign; that he couldn’t win the moderates and crossovers. His huge drubbings in NY, the North East states and especially PA. was written on the wall after MO and ILL, after which he needed to pivot more to the center but didn’t or couldn’t.

As it turns out, Ted is a one trick pony. You can see it clearly now at his rallies. He doesn’t look like a President, he doesn’t look like a Presidential candidate; he looks and acts like a preacher. He raises his voice while he raises his arms and tells us God is calling us to mobilise for the final battle while Glen Beck calls us to fast and pray.

In this last desperate play for the Presidency, he has come home to his father’s roots.

BTW...Pass the donation basket!

Trump’s big gains always came when he opposes evil. I hope he does focus more on Hillary.

Back to basics:

Clinton corruption.

DNC corruption. [Look at their super delegate system!]

Updates on the latest open borders horror stories.

Updates on the latest euro-’refugee’ horror stories.

And frankly, I hope he abandons perverts’ ‘rights’ in womens’ rooms after California.

Then Cruz would eat his dust and even be hidden by it like during last year.
