First 50 floating seahorses will be handed over in October 2016: Kleindienst

The first floating seahorse (floating home) prototype has been unveiled in Dubai and unit owners will be able to live in it by October 2016, Kleindienst Group Chairman Josef Kleindienst told Emirates 24|7.

“We will have the first 50 floating seahorses completed and handed over in October 2016 with the number increasing to 100 by year-end,” he said during the tour of the first prototype on The Heart of Europe (THOE) project on The World islands.

The floating seahorse is a marine style retreat (a boat without propulsion) and will have three levels: one underwater, one at sea level and an upper deck.

The master bedroom and bathroom will be totally submerged underwater, while the sea level accommodation will have floor to ceiling windows, a fully-fitted kitchen with a dining area and an open plan living area.

The upper deck will feature an informal bed, a mini bar, a kitchenette and a glass-bottomed jacuzzi. The deck could be converted into a winter bedroom, which can be enclosed with retractable drapes.

Signature costs Dh12 million

Kleindienst revealed that the company will be releasing "Signature" floating seahorse edition, which will be almost 4,004 square feet in size, with four rooms that can be converted to bedrooms/living rooms to accommodate bigger families.

“We have already sold 19 of the 40 Signature floating seahorses and are currently priced at Dh12 million,” he added.

In total, there will be 131 floating seahorses of which 41 - the initial ones - were sold for Dh5 million to Dh7.5 million. The Tzar edition - 50 units – were priced and sold between Dh7.75 million and Dh10 million.

THOE will have snow and rain-filled streets along with a heart-shape island, Emirates 24|7 has reported earlier.

“St Petersburg Island has now been re-designed into the shape of a heart, taking inspiration from The Maldives and some of the world's finest holiday resorts,” Kleindienst had told this website.

THOE comprises six islands: Sweden, Germany, Main Europe, Switzerland, St Petersburg and Monaco.

I can’t wait for dubai to run out of money and the islamic nut job filth that lives there go feral and start burning and pillaging...

Remember when Lebanon used to be the “Paris of the Middle east”

Someday so will Dubai be remembered as that after it falls....

I guess instead of hiring a pool-boy they’ll be hiring window washers/scrubbers to keep the barnacles and other crap from growing on their windows.

“Who is going to clean the windows?”

Live snails with some kind of “snail trap” would be great

I’ve occasionally wondered if the UAE, which includes Dubai, might not qualify for Babylon the Great? It certainly would merit some of the merchant’s lament taken up over its fall.

Imagine waking up one morning in that bedroom, turning on the lights and seeing either a huge shark with it’s nose up against the window or a huge octopus spread out against the window..........Or worse yet, a big crack in it......LOL!

Sure looks like a houseboat to me, though I don't think many houseboats have the underwater living quarters like these do. Could be wrong, LOL.

So, do they have a dry dock where these things can be cleaned and serviced?

Dubai: the Vegas of the middle east.

Not quite. But it is far more liberal than the Kingdom or even Bahrain for that matter.
