Thanks...I’m about to believe the best choice for me is just to go back to a regular antenna and forgo all the extras.
I am cheap, cheap, cheap.;)
FWIW I’m paying the same rate for cable channels, broadband, and home phone as I was in 2009.
Whenever I get the yearly bill with a price increase, I just tell them I’m switching to ATT U-Verse. (Now my neighbors that have U-Verse have a lot of technical difficulties due to crummy local infrastructure, but I don’t mention that to the cable co).
Thanks...Im about to believe the best choice for me is just to go back to a regular antenna and forgo all the extras.

If you're cheaper than me I'll send you 2 bits. (You pay postage.)
If you can't afford "high" speed internet -it costs me $59/mo- plus a streaming service (Netflix is best by far, $~10/mo) get an antenna. If you are in a metropolitan area you will receive many digital channels. If you get a usb digital tuner for your computer, you can view live tv or record programs for later viewing, and skip commercials. They're cheap and work well.
