This case wasn’t about marriage.
Marriage is a Federal issue, because in case you didn’t notice, SCOTUS ruled on it. The only way that can be fixed now is at the federal level.
Fred Thompson lost my support when he refused to support a Federal marriage amendment, and stated that it should be left to the states. That was a surrender.

Danny, you have progressed. I seem to remember you were a supporter of Scalia’s dissent in Lawrence which foretold the fedguv intrusion in to all manner of things it had no powers at all according to the US Constitution. Is my memory correct?

What I have noticed Danny is that a great many people here at FR have become very progressive. Your views have evolved so to speak. Like Mr. Trumps.

see 22, and yes I support Scalia’s dissent. I’ve long thought that we need a Federal defense of marriage amendment.
And one merely need to look at the current battle line of Transgender’s use of opposite sex bathrooms to realize how far down the slippery slope we are.
That case has nothing to do with Cruz’s defense of the state ban on sex toys.

Justice Scalia said that legislatures have the power to make stupid laws without federal intrusion. You can not support Lawrence and oppose a Texas appeal which claims the fedguv has no business in the Texas dildo business. Well I guess you can if you are progressing.

I didn't support Lawrence. The two cases are dramatically different. In the Texas case:
- There is no scriptural prohibition.
- There is no sanctity of life issue.
- There is no known connection to child abuse.
- The state had no interest in the ban at all. It was a completey unwarranted intrusion into privacy.
In the Lawrence case:
- There is a scriptural prohibition.
- There are connections and associations with child abuse.
- There are diseases which are spread by the behavior.
- And the state has an interest in promoting traditional marriage as the state is dependent upon young people for it's continuance.

If you think Trump supporters are going overboard on political opportunism against Cruz on this sex toys issue, just remember how Cruz himself ( not just his supporters ) defended all those creeps who were disrupting Trump’s campaign events and blaming Trump for the mayhem. T*t for tat.
