A white student at a predominantly Hispanic and black Long Island high school says he was targeted for punishment over his race — punched, hit with a chair and repeatedly called “cracker” and “white boy” — while administrators did nothing to protect him.
Lawyers for Giovanni Micheli, now 23, aim to convince a federal jury that their client was singled out as a “minority” in Brentwood High School and then told by school officials, most of them white, to either “project more self-confidence” in order to stem the beating and berating — or leave.
An attorney for the school district said Micheli was never able to give school employees enough information about his assailants.
In describing one attack, Micheli told supervisors his tormentors were slender and black, attorney Jack Shields said.
“Had the district rounded up all African-American students who were thin, we’d be here for another reason,” Shields told jurors.
The attorney said school brass did everything they could to help Micheli acclimate to his surroundings, including placing him in clubs. But the measures had little impact — and Micheli used a racial epithet during one confrontation with black students, Shields alleged.
Finally, staffers ordered that he leave campus as a safety precaution.
He and his parents want reimbursement for his parochial school tuition.

Got bullied in school by one person. Foolishly ignored my many warnings. Then the day came, said person’s face met a locker and then the concrete floor several times. Never had a problem after that.
Never sure what the result of any first fight is. I only know what the result of the 2nd fight will be if I get beaten.
Not at all a rare event. Good for the kid and family for their suit.
Now, don’t expect Obama to invite this abused white kid to the oval office for a photo op.
had problems with bullies from grade school all the way till 10th grade it stopped the day I took one of my bully’s and rammed his head into a locker repeatedly . suddenly after coming back from a weeks suspension no one bothered me. I had made the mistake of telling everyone I was a pacifist when I was in grade school honestly tried to stick to the philosophy. the one thing I learned was that if anyone thinks you wont fight back you will be gone after by those that are looking for an easy target. if some one hits you make sure you hit them harder it will stop the other guy who did not hit you.
Growing up white in the black Bronx taught me how to fight. Never standing down got me alot of respect back in those days. I was the only white at a lot of black parties but things are different today. A fight will more likely get you ganged up on or shot.

the thing is you could get by ......not ever one was going to harassed you but you had to stand up in the people that did or you really going to get hammer by the group....
the average person in the in the groups are not going to go against it to stick up for somebody that doesn’t stick up for themselfs
really I got by... but then I was big guy people didn’t mess with me in general... and I didn’t mess up with other people

What racial epithet did he use? Some blacks have mighty thin skin these days and will use a poor excuse to pound a white person.
So when are fathers going to band together and sue the school systems for allowing girls to assault their sons?
If I understand the story, the family was forced to use a parochial school because the public school was a zoo.
This is a rare event in the NYC metro area because of the segregation here. When Americans do have children (the few that bother), that is when they pack up and leave any area that MIGHT SOMEDAY HAVE blacks and Hispanics. This may also be a situation where a high school is shared by numerous towns (because individual municipalities are too small for a high school); the perps may live miles from the victim.
I attended a 95% black school 59-60 years ago. I got beaten up regularly. The staff/administration would do nothing to stop it.
I learned that as long as the bullies were not in a group they were cowards. I tracked down several of them one at a time and beat them up. I was kicked out of school. That worked out even better for me.
If the circumstances had been reversed,and the kid had been black, the media would be all over this.
As it is, yawns all around.
I would point out the very large MS-13 presence at this school, and the bodies of murder victims found in the area on a regular basis.
