An ESPN host wore a t-shirt on air mocking the Cleveland Indians' controversial logo

ESPN host Bomani Jones wore a "Caucasians" t-shirt mocking the Cleveland Indians' "Chief Wahoo" logo during the "Mike & Mike" show on Thursday.

The shirt includes the word "Caucasians" in the Indians' font, with a character based on "Chief Wahoo" that has white skin (instead of red), a basic nose (instead of a large, hooked nose), blonde hair (instead of dark hair parted, and held down by a head band), and a dollar sign (instead of a feather).

Here are the two logos side-by-side:

Another boorish race obsessed liberal trying to stir the pot. The ironic thing is that if there was a team called the "Caucasians" Jones would probably be opposed to them as well.

Funny shirt. Chief Wahoo with blonde hair, a dollar sign in place of his feather, and “Caucasians” in the same cursive font as “Indians”. Might get one myself and wear it to a game. No problem ... Go Tribe!

I would love to have a team to root for called the Caucasians. But then they would complain it lacks diversity

ESPN... MSNBC with ball scores. And they wonder why they are hemorrhaging viewers.

Back in the day, I used to enjoy PTI but Kornheiser and Wilbon are such PC Obama-worshipping sycophants it became unbearable.

I remember a few years ago an Indian tribe tried to prove how racist Indian mascots were so they made T-shirts called the “Fighting Whities.” Rush Limbaugh mentioned it on his show and they sold out all of their T-shirts. White people couldn’t get enough of them. I think they also said “Everything’s going to be all white.”

I thought ESPN had issued an edict that on air personnel were NOT permitted to expound on any political issues.

Oh, but Bomani Jones is black. No way that ESPN big wigs can take him to task or punish him for flouting the rules.

funny shirt...might get one myself and wear it to a game

Yeah. The Caucasian chief does emphasize how ridiculous this whole dump the mascot screed is. There are "native americans" (who knew?) in Cleveland who show up at games to protest Chief Wahoo. Like that's the biggest gripe they have? If anyone had a brain, they'd embrace "Chief Wahoo" as a cartoon figure and use the opening to start an issue of any real issues they might have.

The dollar bill replacing the feather is the giveaway that this idiot’s complaint is really about capitalism and not racism. Either that or all black activists are also communists, which is probable.

it is not about the logo - it’s about being forced to change their logo to something the ‘progressives’ approve of. its about power. raw power.

Go the rest of the way and create one called the Cleveland “N...ers” with a dark brown mascot.

THAT would be funny (if dangerous). Unless you have a black friend you could convince to wear it.

Actually, I’d be surprised if his contract with ESPN allows him to mock any sports team’s trademarks. I would not be surprised if the Indians have a legal remedy available for this “cunning stunt”.

All of these logos, parody or otherwise, only serve to demonstrate the male-normative hegemony of our society.
