JoJo the golden retriever works at Pediatric Dentistry of Northbrook in Illinois, helping to ease patients anxiety and keep them calm during their appointments, according to the practices website. The pooch, whos a trained comfort dog, has been visiting the dentistry once a month and shes had a positive effect on the kids she meets.

The dog is kept in another room, only brought forward for kids who want him, to avoid scaring other kids, who may be afraid of dogs.

AFAIC, having a registered Therapy Dog is the way to go.
