Tell your FNG story!
I just saw a locked thread so couldn't post there-- wherin one FReeper calls another NOOB.
How young must one be on FR to be a NOOB? So I looked... 2010!! I figured it was a joke as the accuser's account was a 2016 sign-up. SO....
At my first squadron as an ensign, fresh outta Electronic Warefare school (se habla espanol.. any guesses where? Second hint, ground-based naval aircraft...) I showed up at the O-club for lunch. I'm a normal guy, not too much attitude for a typical JO. When allofa sudden, another fella I recognized from flight school (we were both NFOs... back of the bus, self-loading-baggage, not pilots) with a funny last name, RIPE for hazing (Muckenthaller-- "What the F*ck, MUCK?!" was common speech I'd come to find out.") Muckenthaller, himself with one month in the squadron sees me come in and announces very loudly to all assembled,
"Hey guys, here's [Phinneous,] the NEW GUY"
You couldn't imagine the abuse that still-obvious-FNG took for both of us for piping up like that while still being an obvious FNUGA, NOOB, NOOBIE, F'in NEW GUY.
So who has a shorter NOOB story??
Yep, I’ve been here since 2001. Though ran for political office and needed to delete my prior account. I was going to laugh at the other day who accused me of that. Oh well..

They bit it big time, and when they got back they were the most pissed of crews I have ever seen.
Well, before they got back, our branch chief said, put away your tools, you're coming with me.
So we did and ended up at the fire station on the flightline. They had a couple of kegs, and all kinds of food for the crews.
Well, the crews being pissed, left immediately, soon followed by all other responsible personnel.
Us irresponsible personnel took over immediately, and had one hell of a night. In uniform, under orders !

I am coming up on 10th anniversary, but I was 2 years here and we came into the ‘08 election and it was pretty hot and heavy. I worked on this damn story for a looong time about Jennifer Brunner and finally it started to get attention. I was very excited about it all. Found one of the post here;

It’s my experience that most people here are Noobs.
It was fairly standard for FNGs in a Tomcat squadron be given a Maverick or Goose name tag until the wardroom could decide on a campaign. One of the squadrons I was in gave the FNGs either a Clam or Dilly nametag. They were two former squadron members that were hated.
I vote for anyone after 1998.

Well,I’ll cast a vote for MurryMom and give it up for Dan From Michigan as well. A couple of other good blasts from the past. Obviously A+Bert is first ballot hall of famer.
