If Donald Trump wins the Republican presidential nomination this summer, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus is vowing not to give the billionaire’s campaign control over the party leading up to the November election, according to a report in The New York Times.
The Times said Priebus “has also let it be known that he does not plan to let the Trump campaign take over the party apparatus if he captures the nomination.
“At an off-the-record happy hour with reporters last week, Mr. Priebus said clearly that, regardless of precedent, he would not be layered over by Mr. Trump’s loyalists, according to two people present.”

Well, all these Freepers who don’t want Trump will also have to ask themselves when it’s time to vote : do they really want to see Hillary get elected president?
We don’t always have ideal choices in elections. Heck, so many here criticized past GOP losers such as Romney, McCain, and Bob Dole. And wished that other candidates had been the GOP nominees in the years they ran. But the alternative is some liberal Democrat. All of us have to think through, even if the GOP nominee is not our preference, then who the heck are you going to vote for???

It’s crap. Everything being said about both Cruz and Trump is crap. “Suppose, if, could, may” with no supporting proof of unnamed sources. We have been “Goebbled” by the media into taking sides based on information that would throw a case out in a kangaroo court.
The DNC, RNC and the establishment doesn’t want Trump or Cruz. They said so a year ago. And there isn’t anything anyone can do. I see “March on Cleveland” threads and we will stay home comments. That’s EXACTLY what the establishment wants us to do.

It being off the record and all I’d bet that lots of stuff was bandied about, between Rinse and the reporters, having to do with their common goals. Bet ol’ Rinse feels that those reporters are his close personal buds.

Maybe that was part of what the meeting was about. It’s very easy to sit in a bar throwing around scenarios of what may happen when you are out in front trying to influence the outcome, when that hypothetical becomes reality it is going to be a completely different story.

The GOP showed it’s okay with suicide by putting this idiot at the head of the RNC. Reince Priebus has been an unmitigated disaster. The GOP was on life support under Michael Steele, but Reince has pulled the plug, and the only thing left is entombment.
Between priebus & mitt, l’d say trump has every justification to void his loyalty pledge because GOP. Breeched the contract
What if the names and home addresses of those who plot to steal the election are made public?

This is something different.
Last election, Romney was considered the ‘head’ of the party and given great leeway in determining the direction and strategy of the PARTY.
Priebus did NOT say he would not support Trump if he won. What he said was that he would not support giving that same control over the party to Trump that they gave to Romney.
Reibus better hope that Trump does not win the election then, because if Trump is president, it is very likely Reibus’ career is over.

Why even bother? If Trump is denied the nomination, I'm tuning out of all politics and getting myself prepared for what's coming. I say let the POS RINOs have their little slumber party in Cleveland and get destroyed in the general.
