No, Trump Isn’t Actually Better than Hillary
National Review Online ^ | March 29, 2016 | David French

Those of us who’ve pledged that we will never, ever vote for Donald Trump always get the same response: “You’d put Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office instead?” Clinton’s name is spoken like an epithet, as if it’s unthinkable that any conservative would take any single action that could facilitate her election. I will not, under any circumstances, vote for Clinton, but I also do not believe that Trump would make a better president. Not because Clinton isn’t as bad as you think, but because Trump is worse than you imagine.

Exactly - instead of attacking, why not convince them with winning arguments to YOUR side? Honestly, the amount of vitriol, ink, energy spent on anti-Trump stuff boggles the mind.

Pundits are rarely going to admit publicly that they are wrong, whatever they may acknowledge in private. But more importantly, it is not even about convincing that media personality. It is about convincing/persuading everyone else who may be attracted to that argument.

We don't have candidate debates so that one candidate can convince the other to switch sides. It is to convince the audience.

Look at the reasons they are advancing against Trump, and to the extent they are unfair or based on flawed reasoning, point that out. You probably won't convince that guy (at least, not publicly), but you may convince others.

Good grief. What a group of complete morons over there at NR. They’re as clinically insane as Beck.

Just a wild idea here... But instead of attacking people who express this kind of opinion, why not try to convince them why they are wrong?

Forget it, Jake. It's National Review.

Trump beings in more voters.
Trump has won two of the 3 important swing states.
Trump appeals to non party blue collar.

Cruz has come third in all 3 swing states
Never won a single county in two of them VA, FL.
Does not appeal to most , except a small group of voters.

Kasich won 1 state his own.
Does not appeal ot the base, nor non party and blue collar.

OK National review and establishment, you are so full of B/S that it is obvious that you are using cruz and Kasich to have your contested convention and then once cruz and co has done the dirty work you will look to appoint a person who the voters never wanted and you wonder why millions will stay at home again.

This is 100% true. And it’s a frightening thing to see happening in a so-called “Constitutional Republic.”

The Uniparty has to keep the machine rolling and having an outsider like Trump will gum up the works.

This is not just about stopping Trump. It is intended as a signal to any Republican officeholder or candidate of what to expect from opposing the GOP establishment. If they can tear down Trump then who believes they can actually stand against them.

Because these are people who derive their current and future income from the lobbyist big government teat....

If this system is destroyed....their vacations, private schools for their kids, mortgages are all at risk.....

They will never listen to reason.....

This is why they would support Hillary over Trump....Hillary will maintain the status quo and eventually they know they will win an election again....

How about this idea. These two sources of bird cage liners, TNR & TWS, are all in for a self-servicing status quo, and are scared to death of the old power structure crumbling. Therefore they use the old Pravdaesque technique of distortion to try and rescue their sorry backsides. Most of us here long ago realized that this magazine looks down their nose as regular folks, and dismisses our opinions as ignorance to some notion that elites knows what’s better for us than we do.

..........................................................

Can you name one prominent media personality (over eternity) who was transformed by someone using your strategy?

The first facade is that someone who is paid for the job of “opinion” can have their views changed through thoughtful discussion. On the other hand, most can be bought for a higher price to expouse their new opinion of the payee.

“...To paraphrase Marc Faber, Trump would just destroy the US economy...”

I don’t know how much more ridiculous you can get than this...
Trump’s whole life and businesses are built around the US economy. That is the reason he is running for office...To try and SAVE the US and the US economy, therefor saving his businesses as well...

Is Hillary going to get advice from Sen. Sessions on Supreme Court nominees?
