My dad was a Detroit cop and a rabid Lions fan, which he passed on to my brother and me. One evening dad was on motor patrol and noticed a car driving erratically. He pulled the car over and approached the car. He soon discovered that the impaired driver was Bobby Layne. Dad was star-struck and let him off with a warning.
