A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.
This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldn’t keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruz’s and Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) campaigns.
The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubio’s team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates’ wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

Cruz said he would endorse Rubio!
If Cruz endorces Rubio, Trump will go up at least 3-5% in the polls, as the folks who backed Cruz thinking he was a principled conservative, and anti amnesty, see him sell out... those folks will either stay home or go Trump.
If Rubio wants maximum a benefit from Cruz exist, the better path is probably for Cruz to endorce no one I would think.
Time will tell.
This sounds more like a rubio created myth which got sent to trump instead of being dropped by rubio since no one would believe it if it came from them.
I highly doubt this could possibly be true.
First even if cruz drops out the chance of rubio winning is zero. If rubio dropped out I could see cruz bringing it to a brokered convention.
Second Cruz would have to be a complete idiot to believe that rubio can win vs trump but also win vs clinton/sanders once again not possible.
Third he’d have to be a complete retard to believe that the GOPe will keep a promise.
This whole thing smacks of a leak of fake info to trumps people. Their is zero downside for rubio to leak this fake info. That plus their is zero downside for trumps people to run it... rubio can leak it to them and it will sound much more credible.

Wouldn’t be too surprised. Most of the polls I’ve seen show Trump beating Rubio head to head. After Super Tuesday Trump’s numbers will only increase as he will be seen by everyone as the winner, and the bandwagon effect will kick in, and he’ll steamroll right over Rubio and anyone else, even if Rubio gets out and Romney jumps in.
I have a friend who did some work for Stone. He had to sue him to get paid.
No, it’s not pointless at all. The point is, Rubio can’t carry it against Trump, but he can be replaced with someone else..i for got who..Romney I think.
Eventually, the votes can be funnelled to Clinton. THAT is the point.

Exactly, Cruz’s voters won’t universally go Rubio, in fact I’d say somewhere around 20-30% of his voters will go Trump or just stay home before they would go Rubio.
If Cruz quits, Trump will get more of his supporters than will Rubio.
Not voting for Rubio.

So all Cruz has to do to torpedo this story is send out one Tweet. It’s still over 24 hours until the polls close on ST.
The Carson thing was right at the start of caucus time.
Trump very publicly fired Stone last August, days after the first debate.
There is no connection, and Stone is not a Trump insider.
