The Politidcal Insider ^ | 2/29/16 | Kosar

A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.

This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldn’t keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruz’s and Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) campaigns.

The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubio’s team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates’ wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

I know it’s amazing Trump turned what was a natural set of supporters completely against him. So much so that they will vote for the Rube or stay home! How bad is that? To have what was just a month or two ago close companion in positions to completely against you? Scorched earth baby! You play with fire that’s what you get.

In about a year, he will need to decide to campaign for reelection or to move on. So he needs to look ahead.

There’s not much of a future for him in the Senate with Trump as President. Not that Donald will be vindictive, he won’t. It’s just that he won’t ascend further and because he’s young and ambitious, staying in the Senate won’t be an option.

Donald may offer him something to expand his experience such as chief counsel for a trade delegation team. Ted needs to play what cards he has left in just the right way if he is to emerge later as a contender.

So he needs to look at something else. And it’s reported he’s asking for a slot on SCOTUS. So there you go.

Hopefully the “Trump’s my 2nd choice” supporters will flock to Trump and give him a super-majority over Rubio.

All the Cruz supporters I know will go with Trump regardless of who Ted endorses.

This story smells, I can't see him endorsing Rubio if he stills wants a future. Rubio is going to loose with or without Teds endorsement and everyone but the GOPe knows it. He will never get an opportunity to appoint anyone. Why would Ted hitch his wagon to that?

Maybe GOPe promised Rubio the nomination if he’ll go out there an make a fool of himself like a cheesy stand-up comic to take out Trump. What they’re not telling him is that he’s just a placeholder for now. At the convention they’ll slide in Bush or Romney, and Rubio will have been conned.

It appears the 2016 elections will come down to Trump vs. Clinton. That’s a helluva choice. Feel the apathy!

Roger Stone, who left the Trump Campaign but really works for him? OK Trumpsters, be honest, this is what you called out Cruz for in Iowa.... waiting for honesty in 3.. 2... 1 .... waiting.

I don’t think Cruz’s supporters go to Trump any longer. They used to but not after Trump’s scorched earth after losing in Iowa. Trump needs to start mending fences or he’ll elect Hillary. ANd his supporters need to quit being such sore winners.

IF the plans are seen to fruition, what makes Ted believe the rube would be keeping any agreement made? Like the snake that he is, the crawler would gladly turn around to bite and slay him. On the other hand, would a Canadian Cuban be approved for the Supreme Court; leaving another Cuban running for POTUS? Sounds a bit fishy. First the second Cuban would HAVE to win.... not likely (IMHO). Cruz will have the offer only IF the pubbies plan to broker the convention. Otherwise, Rubio wouldn’t see the delegates wander over to him. Will Ted at last be the nail in the republican’s coffin? The straw that breaks the camels back? If this scenario occurs, the pubbies will have stripped themselves bare leaving nothing to the imagination. They will see ALL of themselves hanging out to dry. It is presumed this will occur AFTER Super Tuesday as the day of reckoning is upon us. IF Ted should loss his state of Texas, would the offer still stand? Random questions which have the need to be answered.

Hillary knows how DC "is supposed to work" and those 2 along with a lot of others don't want any changes.

It needs a lot of changes. We don't know if Trump will attempt to institute them, but we know for sure that none of the others will!

Especially preventing career politicians from ruling for life. That would be the most important one of all. TERM LIMITS, NOW AND FOREVER!

Only way Cruz bows out Tuesday night is if Trump pulls 50%+ in Texas. Otherwise both Trump & Cruz will get a chunk of that pie.

I see Trump winning all of the state’s except for Texas which IMHO is a toss up, but see neither win the 50%+ margin to collect all of the delagates.

This has been an interesting campaign year. We live in interesting times.

1. I am extremely skeptical of this report.

2. I would like to see Cruz on the Supreme Court, particularly if he would stop any future attempts at Amnesty, but even Justice Cruz would not be enough to make “President Rubio” acceptable. If Rubio wins, America dies, and there are no more chances - we squandered all our opportunities to experiment in 2008 and then in 2012 with the worst choice imaginable twice in a row.

No, Donald’s team let him go because Stone is too much into himself for their tastes, meaning he’s trying to use the Trump brand as a stepping stone to positions of higher ambition. Nothing wrong with that in general, but I gleen that the Trump team wants people that are longterm with them and not looking to grab coattails.

Still Roger Stone is an excellent analyst and communicator. He does however, get tied to persons that are tainted by sensationalism such as Alex Jones.

Not a fan of Cruz, but I’m surprised he’d settle for SCOTUS.

This entire thing is laughable, even if he was nominated to SCOTUS what are the chances he would be confirmed?

ZERO, between the Dems and backstabbers GOPe in the senate (who all hate him by the way) he would never get enough votes.

I don't know why we waste our time on this nonsense.
