“Free” college.

While we dig ourselves farther and farther into debt. So just whom is going to end up paying for that “free” college?

You’re right. They are going to get slapped awake and it will not be pretty.

Sanders reminds them of their commie/socialists/liberal professors. This is what they have learned in college. Kind of like the Stockholm Syndrome.

They think they have to be liberal like their friends. They none of them can cotton to Hillary. Their media exposes them to Bernie (both propaganda / trolling but also real people they know). He seems likeable and genuine. He will pay for their college somehow.

I have two young male voters in the house, one voting for the first time. I have to work hard to share the truths about Berntopia, and I can tell you, I can’t rain down upon them purely negative or they would probably vote for the Bern. I have to tell them that yes, I think he’s a good guy. He’s genuine. He sees the political corruption. He believes in his message. And wow, his utopia sounds like a cool place to live. And then I explain socialism to them and how it ALWAYS FAILS, every time it’s tried, and human nature will always Have socialism failing and working for some evil elites only.

And then we wonder together why Bernie doesn’t know this. Why does he think his plan will work when none ever has. Why he thinks socialist medicine works in other countries. I’ve lived in other countries and medicine is SHODDY in all of them compared to here. Not that it’s so great here any more, but we have our spots. I honestly do not know, and would like to, how Bernie can be so ignorant in thinking his plan will work where all other socialism on any large scale has already proved an utter failure.

He is like the woman, wife number 6 of some guy, who is SURE this time she can change him and it will work out.

Makes sense.

I think they want to play video games on-line and somehow still get pizza delivered without leaving the basement to go to a job.

My Theory On Why Bernie Is Popular To Young White People

Because so many of them have never had to work for anything - like Sanders himself. It sounds like a slam, but it's not - young people who've never endured any hardship or done any real work, sheltered by helicopter parents and either sitting in college or back home living with their parents after college are not responsible adults. They feel entitled to things they've never worked for, and are eager to add meaning to their shallow lives by addressing social wrongs with money that will not come from them.

Perfect fodder for the Democratic Party at it's most left-wing edge, in other words.

My son says he hopes Hilary wins the nomination. According to him, nobody EVER says anything bad about Bernie at school or on the radio. They take potshots at Hilary all the time. From where he stands, Hilary is not sacred and can be beaten - unlike Bernie.

I found that college perspective quite telling. If Hilary gets the nod, I figure a whole lot of them won't bother voting. I think he seems anti-establishment (compared to Hilary?), being a Senator not withstanding.

“And then I explain socialism to them and how it ALWAYS FAILS, every time it’s tried, and human nature will always Have socialism failing and working for some evil elites only.”

Oh, they have a canned answer for that question: “We are going to do it correctly this time!”

Basically, they’re just young, dumb and naive, and easy pickings for the liberals and socialists. Without the young and naive, democrats would never win elections, so, democrats need to catch them early, while they’re still lacking knowledge and life experiences and wisdom. So, all that the democrats need to to is to make those young/dumb/naive feel special, while telling them that they make a difference and can change the world. Basically, it’s indoctrination of the young.

Others point out Scandinavian countries as successful examples.

You know, the countries being raped by Muslim immigrants.

The only thing they know of socialism is what they’ve been told about how great it is with everything ‘free’ in places like Sweden.

They never saw the worst of the old Soviet Union and China.

I ask them and they have no idea. . .and (again) I tell then the government doesn’t have money, it only has the money it takes from The People.

They feel, not think, that it’s okay to take from those that have “too much money.”

I ask “what is too much, give me a number”

They usually say somewhere along the line of $100K or $200K.

Sad. . .

My bio father was a raving abusive alcoholic, my mom grew tired of the abuse and left when I was three. By the time I was twenty-three I had a full-time job, two babies and was finishing my last year of college at the slow rate of six hours a semester.

Both my kids worked lots of hours and paid for most of their college themselves. My grandsons attend college at night and work two jobs, one during the normal work day and the other on the weekends.

Perhaps these are all isolated cases and examples of the rare minority. My grandsons both say that their college friends are incredibly lazy and don’t know how to do anything useful and/or productive.

Just think - this is the generation that is going to support those that are 50 something. Glad I won’t be around that long.

According to the many articles we’ve seen Millennials are shaping up to have the same personally and economicly failed youth and early adulthood that Bernie had. No kidding. They may be so many little losers rallying around the Big Loser.

If somehow the Big Loser makes it to the white house I can tell you that I have no intention of being forced to pick up the tab for their failed lives. Take that any way youse want...

Plus throw in a literacy test. The willfully ignorant should not choose our leaders.

+1.

Having gone through “family court”, the misandry appellation is most appropriate.
