Something called TeaParty.org sent this to me today. Only the headline is placed here, for a reson on which I'll comment...

But as I looked down the rest of the communication, I realized that nothing below the headline addressed any such incident. But there were repeated requests to send MONEY! I really wanted to know who had been arrested for an anti-Obama Facebook post. Looks like our people (or people pretending to be ours) are acting like Democrats!

Some truth but mostly false:

In August 2012, former Marine Brandon Raub of Chesterfield, Virginia was involuntarily committed for psychiatric evaluation, and initial reports suggested Raub was taken into custody for a series of comments and posts on Facebook. In the immediate aftermath of Raub's evaluation, family members and lawyers advocating for Raub alleged the 26-year-old's First Amendment rights were violated in the course of his involuntary commitment

Since your version is asking for money it probably is a scam on top of it. They're hoping Tea Party people are really as stupid as the media has claimed over the years. Contact TeaParty.org and ask them if they are sending these emails out soliciting contributions. If it is in truth TeaParty.org doing this they will lose support as a result for sure.

I imagine it depends on what “anti” means.

If it is the normal stuff where we disagree with obama, hate him, compare him to Satan, Hitler, Mickey Mouse, etc. - obviously that isn’t so or we would have all been arrested by now.

I have read of a few times where people post something threatening and they have been visited by the Secret Service.

Even then - I’m guessing 99% of those types of threats are bluster.

I wonder, have any of the WH fence jumper crazy types ever posted ahead of time any threats?
