It's 2010. Peyton Manning is the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts and it's Super Bowl XLIV against the New Orleans Saints.
Peyton and the Colts lose the game 31-17.
With time still remaining on the clock, Peyton did something that Cam Newton (or any black quarterback for that matter) would have been absolutely skewered for â he left the field.
He didn't congratulate the opposing quarterback Drew Brees, as is customary. He didn't shake any hands. He didn't try to smile. He just bailed.
Here's how Chris Chase, of Yahoo Sports recalled it in an article entitled, "Peyton Manning storms off Super Bowl field. Is he a poor sport?"
"Peyton Manning didn't shake hands with New Orleans Saints players after his Indianapolis Colts lost 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV. Apparently some think this is a sign of poor sportsmanship from the NFL's greatest player. It's not.
Walking off the field without congratulating Drew Brees may go against our misguided notion of what sportsmanship should be, but it wasn't at all disrespectful or bitter. It shows how much Peyton Manning wanted to win the game. And who can argue about that?"

There is a racial double-standard between Shawn King and Shawn King
Oh, pulllleeeeeze.
Nice try.
Tell the reporter to study, study, study, and retake those SATs.
They could possibly double their score.
To 350.
...one of ‘em can’t even spell his first name
The NY Daily News is a lefty rag.
The writer forgot to mention Newton not diving for a crucial fumble, rolling around on the sideline like a fool, rolling around in the endzone crying for a penalty...all, just days after declaring “People haven’t seen an African American quarterback like me”. Add is the hoodie clad press conference sulk/walkout and people are going to pile on the guy.
Shaun is like the male TransRachel
Jeffrey Shaun King (born 1979) is an American writer, entrepreneur, preacher and civil rights activist.
He is noted for his use of social media to promote religious, charitable and social causes, including the Black Lives Matter movement.
He is the senior justice writer for the New York Daily News.
Previously, he was a contributing writer for Daily Kos.
Yes, being white is the greatest thing since sliced (white) bread, so I urge Mr. King to cut the shenanigans and embrace his whiteness before we cut him out of the racket.
Black Lives Matter Leaders Just Excommunicated Shaun King

Incredible scenes on Twitter as the leading figures of Black Lives Matter are effectively ejecting New York Daily News journalist Shaun King from the movement with a co-ordinated take-down.
“Senior justice writer” Shaun King, who recently sent this correspondent perhaps the most remarkable email in the history of right of reply after he was caught mysteriously deleting 70,000 tweets, was just thrown under the bus by Deray Mckesson and other prominent BLM activists in a series of tweets drawing attention to alleged mismanagement of funds.
This is just the latest in a series of scandals for race-baiter King, who charges $7,500 for speeches about race and gender. Breitbart was the first media organisation to raise questions about Shaun King’s race that have still not been answered. Although King claimed for years to be biracial, after our report he was forced to admit he had no idea who his father was and that both of the people on his birth certificate are white.

The same guy who has his own racial issues, yet the MSM gives this racist POS a forum
I just glanced at this ——and stopped.
This has to be about the millionth race/racism/racist article I’ve read in the past few years.
Big time race fatigue here.
(Apologies to the poster—I’m crotchety tonight)
.
Why are you posting from the far left NY Daily News?
One thing is for sure...he's a damned racist.
It was a lapse in the sportsmanlike conduct Peyton Manning usually displayed. And as such an exception to his rule.
Shawn King is a bomb thrower. Cam Newton’s actions will be long forgotten in a few years, just like Manning’s were forgotten.
Pregame warm-ups with a superman costume and yellow cleats with “MVP” on them. Yeah, a double standard.
He is the senior Just - US writer for the New York Daily News.
Fixed it. ;-)
The thing is, it wasn’t Peyton vs. Newton, it was (Peyton vs. Panther defense ) vs. ( Newton vs. Denver defense ), and the Denver defense was obviously the dominant factor in the outcome. I think there were a couple of black guys on the Denver defense ... know what I mean?
