AUSTIN (AP) - Austin police say an unarmed nude teenager was fatally shot by an officer in an altercation partly captured by patrol car video. Police on Tuesday identified the person who died as 17-year-old David Joseph. (snip) Joseph was black, as is the officer.

Assault with a friendly weapon?
I have a 6'2" 16y/o teenage that you should be afraid of if he charges you, clothes or not. He can wrestle a grizzly and I imagine take the weapon off most police officers in uniform today. Yes, one should be afraid of naked drug induced kids that don't respond to commands to lie down. If my son did that, I would be right behind the police. I raised him better than that, he knows that his action has consequences. Only a fool would suggest a police officer take a beating from some of these kids now days. Now days around with around 15% of the force being women (13% in 2007), there is even a further physical difference. Police have a right to go home at the end of the day too. They also have an obligation not to allow thugs from taking their weapons and hurting more people. If an off-duty police officer charges another on duty police officer, he deserves to be shot just the same as anyone else.

Except this was not "any circumstance". The police officer did not just drive up and shoot the kid. He was charged by the thug.

Bison, casually called buffalo, are so accustomed to cars and asphalt roads that they seem to know the right-of-way. Driving slowly behind a group of bison plodding along a two-lane road, you can certainly maneuver around them whenever it is safe. Bison, when they do travel on the Grand Loop or other roads, usually don’t stop in the middle of the road, either. However, our city slicker impulses may be to beep the horn if one bison decides to hold everyone up. Be patient for bison to make their way off the road, or just simply go around them, but please save the honking for the city.
As for petting a bison? Do not do that! Grown and calf bison may look fluffy and genteel, but they are not very nice playmates. The male bison (bulls) weigh 2,000 pounds, while smaller female (cow) bison are roughly half the size, and they prefer keeping to their herds and guarding their calves. You will not like a bison when he or she is angry, either. Despite their bony, 6-foot-tall frame, their herd instincts make them sensitive to outsiders, aggressive and easily agitated, and they can run up to 35 miles per hour if they feel like chasing you away. They’ve been known to throw grown men ten feet in the air like ragdolls with a just hook and jerk of their horns. In short, when encountering a bison, stay at least twenty-five yards away, or else.

Do you mean to the race baiters? I agree that is probably the case, unless the want to run the narrative that the officer is an uncle tom strictly by virtue of him being a police officer. One never knows exactly how they will react. It usually depends on what they can see as potential for them.

Now, if the cop had been white, the price would likely have been closer to twelve million.
If what someone suggested is true, that the teen was high on something. Some drugs can make s person who is seen as a likely very controllable, suddenly possess the power of someone viewed as having incredible strength. We do not know if this teen had the physic of Brown, but size is not always a reliable determination of someone’s capabilities to inflict a deadly attack.

Honestly, you bootlickers who interpret any criticism of cops as "cop hating" make me sick. Nothing gets better without criticism, oversight and even competition. Cops have basically none of that, they "do it themselves" and are protected by rabid dogs like you that bristle over every slight. Grow the hell up - cops are bureaucrats with guns. They are not military, and they're not supposed to be military.
What is bootlicking about defending a police being charged and defending himself. Bootlicker would be if I defended the police officer if he shot a man that was giving up laying on the ground. I would be right in there giving such a police officer heck if it went down that way.
Am I in favor of a police officer not being able to defend himself? No.
One person on this thread was for disarming police officers. Who would want to even do a job equipped like Obama wants our military? IOWs unarmed.
