A woman I know counsels people with severe anxiety disorders and panic attacks.

About 70% of her clientele are pot heads.

70% use it because pot is the safest and most alert medication for those with anxiety disorders.

Think about it- your alternatives are xanax, valium and similar crap. Physically addictive, toxic and put you to sleep

Have a friend with severe anxiety since childhood that could not even attend school. She tried all the therapy and drugs. Medical pot was the only thing that calmed her enough to be functional without making her pass out

How many of them had severe anxiety disorders and panic attacks before they began self medicating with pot?

If you don’t know the answer to that, your 70 percent statistic falls into the category of meaningless data point.

The question is, were they self-medicating because of their emotional problems or did they have emotional problems because of their self medicating?

Me, I just hug my cat. Maybe we should have cat hugging clinics. :)
